Top Chef did a reunion show before we get to see the finale spread out over the next two weeks. Liquor flowed, words flew, and tempers got hot. Discerning fans over at Televisionwithoutpity.com think they figured out who won. If you're curious to see who, go here.
Luke finally came out to his parents on As the World Turns. About fricking time, no? You can read our interview with Van Hansis, the actor who plays Luke here. For a soap opera, the show dealt with Luke's coming out with a remarkably deft touch. It's not hard to believe that a lot of folks watching the show might have had their minds changed at least a little bit. Now we just have to see if Luke gets to fall in love, be kidnapped, get a transplant (wait, that already happened to him) and find out his mother is really his long lost twin sister just like a regular character.
Speaking of out gay teens, Andrew Van De Kamp is out all right—out on his a$$, after Bree drove him up into the mountains and dropped him off like a dog she was abandoning. The only thing missing was her saying, “Go on, Andrew! You're free now! Go find others just like you!” Hard to say what's going to happen next. Is DH creator Marc Cherry just trying to get rid of Andrew? Or will our favorite bad-boy turn around and come right back home? Spoilers have been in short supply so, you'll just have to tune in to see. I will say that Bree doesn't exactly deal well with what happened.
Wasn't that a sweet kiss between Will and Vince? If they had done that a few more times I never would've complained about the writing! Don't forget Will and Grace is two hours next week.
THIS WEEK ON DVD
Out now is Garcon Stupide and the first season of Footballers Wives. While I'm not aware of any gay stuff in Season One it is camp classic nonetheless.
CATCH IT BEFORE IT SINKS
The buzz on Poseidon is that it's a disaster all right, but not the sort director Wolfgang Petersen intended. Nonetheless, I'm a disaster flick junkie having grown up on the original Poseidon Adventure, Earthquake, The Towering Inferno, and even Tidal Wave. Throw in Richard Dreyfuss playing gay and I have to check out Poseidon. If there's anything notable, I let you know next week.
And for those of you in New York keep in mind that NewFest, New York's GLBT film festival is going to open with Strangers with Candy on June 1 Check out their whole line-up at www.newfest.org.
