RUFUS DOES JUDY
Rufus Wainwright is thinking outside the box with his next concert--way outside the box. He's going to recreate Judy Garland's classic 1961 concert at Carnegie Hall that cemented her status as an icon for the ages. Rufus is recreating everything right down to the posters. I'm actually looking for someone who's attending the show to write a quick review for me. If that's you and you're interested, drop me an email at editor@afterelton.com. If you're lucky, maybe I'll set you up with Jake!

FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE
I completely blew it last week when I failed to mention that the new season of Footballer's Wives started last Sunday. Who expected the new season to start a month after the last one ended? Anyway, it did and is back on Sunday nights on BBC America. Gay footy player Noah is also back as he struggles to come to terms with his surprise outing followed by that lovely gay-bashing. I won't give anything away, but things don't get a whole lot easier for poor Noah.

Lifetime launched Lovespring International this week. It's a comedy set in the office of a dating service on the ropes due to the rise of online dating sites. The pilot was funny, but reminded me an awful lot of The Office. On the plus side, the show not only includes three out actors (Jack Plotnick, Sam Pancake, and Jane Lynch), but Pancake's character is a barely closeted gay guy who seems to be having an affair with his brother-in-law. Yes, that sounds like an episode of Maury Povich. Best of all, Lovespring is finally giving a decent role to Jennifer Elise Cox who was hysterical as Jan Brady in the Brady Bunch movie remakes. You might also remember her from an episode of Will & Grace where she played a ditzy student nurse who had trouble drawing blood from Grace. Every time I see that clip of her saying, “But I'm like, it's hard,” I laugh myself silly.

Lovespring airs Mondays at 11 PM.

Yet another cooking show starts on Monday. This time it's the second season of Fox Network's Hell's Kitchen. There is no one openly gay on the show—or at least not yet. Some internet scuttlebutt has it that someone might be revealed as gay during the season. I can hardly wait.

If you just can't wait cause you're just too durned excited about Big Brother All Stars, RealityTVmagazine.com thinks they might know who the top twenty candidates are after CBS may have inadvertently posted them on their website. If you really want to know just click the link and all will be revealed.

Finally, Logo has launched their version of Can't Get a Date, so you can feel better if your love life sucks. Up next is James, dateless for the past six months. Apparently, our wannabe lothario has an attitude problem that is holding him back. If you want to see what not to do to find romance, check out the episode airing this Wednesday at 10:30 PM.

Don't forget the Tony Awards air Sunday night at 8 PM on CBS. There's a lot of gay interest for the ‘mos this year, from gay-themed plays (The History Boys) to openly gay actors, directors, and playwrights. Heck, the Tony's are the gayest thing you'll see on network television all year.

OUT THIS WEEK ON DVD
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang starring Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. is out this week. The crime pic did a nice job of upending the buddy flick genre by making Kilmer's gay character the tough one while Downey is in need of protection.

For those of a certain age, you might be interested in the release of the first season of The Wild, Wild West which featured Robert Conrad in very tight pants. Of course, Robert had a male sidekick with whom he spent far more time than he did the women who drifted in and out of his life. Hmm, does that seem familiar?

Also out from Strand Releasing is A Year Without Love. No, it's not about James on Can't Get a Date.

Here! announced this week they picked up worldwide rights to Race You to the Bottom starring our favorite Wiccan lesbian, Amber Benson (Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer). You can check out our review here.

Now I'll shut up so you can have the BEST.GAY.WEEK.EVER

That's it for this week! Check back next Friday for a new installment of Best. Gay. Week. Ever., or read previous installments here.
