Best. Gay. Week. Ever.

YES, THE RUMORS ARE TRUE. I'M COMING OUT AS BI!
Bi-coastal, that is. Starting next month, I'm going to be spending one week a month residing in the Big Apple. As much as it pains me to admit it, Tacoma, Washington, just isn't the center of the world like it used to be. Spending more time in New York will enable me to establish more contacts with the folks you want to know about (yes, Mr. Jackman, I got your order for five pounds of fresh salmon!), and to attend events like the Tribeca Film Festival and my boss' housewarming party (yes, Sarah, I've packed my waiter outfit!). My only request is that you don't tip off Page Six. I hate the idea of their monitoring my every move.

FIRST TORONTO, THEN ON TO OKLAHOMA CITY
The Toronto Film Festival was in full swing this week and wraps up tomorrow. Gay journalist Lawrence Ferber has been blogging about it and among the items he discusses is the soon-to-be-released movie Infamous, which he calls a “gayer version of Capote”. Lawrence also saw Scott Thompson's raunchy new stand-up act and The Bubble, the new film by Eytan Fox. Ferber says The Bubble, the story of a love affair between two gay men, one Israeli and one Palestinian, is garnering the most gay buzz at the festival. Fox also brought us Yossi and Jagger, and unless The Bubble is a huge step up from that underwhelming film, I'm less than excited to see it.

Sounds like the Toronto premiere of John Cameron Mitchell's latest, Shortbus, raised a few eyebrows. At least one man walked out during the “shocking” gay sex scene of a three-way done to the tune of a raunchy rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner". But I totally get that. I stormed out of the theater when Prince Charming kissed Sleeping Beauty. Some things are just gross.

Oklahoma's largest LGBT film festival, Out OK, just announced the line-up for their upcoming schedule to take place October 11-22. Granted we're not talking Toronto-caliber movies here, but Out OK will be screening Coffee Date (Wilson Cruz) and Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds, Q. Allen Brocka's supposedly fantastic follow-up to his 2004 movie Eating Out. Best of all? Hotels are a heckuva lot cheaper in Tulsa than Toronto!

HOW COULD YOU NOT NOTICE THE HOMOEROTIC NUANCES?
Ever since the debut of ABC Family's Sci Fi drama Kyle XY, the gay blogosphere has been buzzing about the show's breakout star, Matt Dallas. I've no idea what Kyle XY is about (all I know is it's not gay, and thanks to my devotion to you people, if it's not gay, I don't have time for it!), but Matt's role in Camp Daze, a teen slasher pic also known as Camp Slaughter, is getting notice for it's very queer vibe thanks to YouTube.com. Apparently, nothing else gay happens in the movie which makes this scene all that much more odd.
