Best. Gay. Week. Ever. (April 27, 2007)FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE If you happen to be home on Friday night John Waters drops in on Henry Rollins' show over on IFC. If you're home on Saturday night, Logo has the US premiere of Freddie Mercury: Magic Remixed, a documentary about Mercury's life and career. Here is a clip of Freddie's last performance: I was wrong about last week being a double elimination on The Amazing Race which was a good thing as Danny and Oswald came in last. They have to do really well Sunday night or they're toast. The week after is the season finale; with any luck, they'll make the top three. Brothers & Sisters is back this week. I'm afraid I don't have any spoilers. The episode is called "Bad News", but for a change it's not bad news for Kevin or one of the guys can't seem to make things work with. This time it's Sarah and Joe, and Thomas and Julia who have the most problems. Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) gets a fair amount of screen time on Monday night's episode of How I Met Your Mother. Apparently, it's been a lifelong dream of Barney to be on The Price is Right and I've no doubt the out Harris will make the most of this bit. Tuesday night's episode of Work Out is like none other in the show's history. The clip we put up yesterday is pretty misleading as it focuses on Jesse's training session with a Colt model. That seems like a rather odd segment for the episode where Jackie, Brian, and the other trainers learn just how dire things are for the ill Doug Blasdell. But there turns out to be more to the Colt model than just his physique as he tells Jesse about his service as a Marine in Iraq. Then follows a discussion of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and how poorly the military treated a fellow soldier who was awarded a Purple Heart before being discharged. Bet you didn't see that coming. Then before we even get to Doug's illness, we watch Jackie go home to visit her mother in an attempt to improve their rocky relationship. On top of that, there are issues with her deceased father, and, well, it's pretty heavy. Then there is Doug's illness. Watching Brian Peeler, Doug's best friend in the gym, get the news of just how sick Doug has become is heartbreaking. There haven't been many friendships between straight men and gay men like theirs on television and it's tragic it ended this way. Tuesday night also brings the second episode of Logo's The Big Gay Sketch Show at 10 PM. As you probably know from our Shear Design recap, Theodore had his “final cut” leaving us with only one gay boy left to bat for our team. Maybe it's progress that it turns out that the gays aren't as gifted in the hair salon as we've been led to believe all these years! A couple of weeks ago we asked for your suggestions for our Best Same-Sex Kisses page. Well, the page is up so go check out some of our--and your--favorite kisses. As you suggest more and more occur, we'll update the page! Now I'll shut up so you can have the BEST.GAY.WEEK.EVER! That's it for this week! Check back next Friday for a new installment of Best. Gay. Week. Ever., or read previous installments here. Submitted by on Thu, 2007-04-26 21:03. |

Hi Michael!
Dear Don
sent to the recycle binconsidered very seriously. I will completelydiscountconsider your criticism of my use of the strikethrough. You are clearlya disturbed individual with too much time on your handsa very thoughtful person. Check back for next week's 100% strikethrough free column! As if. :-)That comment was from me!
The name is Henry Rollins,
Thanks for
Best Same-Sex Kisses suggestion
Without a doubt in my mind the kiss in "Torchwood: Capt Jack Harkness" is one of the most romantic kisses ever. John Barrowman is arguably one of the sexiest men around. I say arguably because each to his own taste.
Actually, it was your running a clip of that kiss that led me to check out more on Torchwood and it's an amazing series. It's darker, funnier and much more adult than Dr Who. There are a few more same-sex kisses through out the series, as well.
BTW...Love your superhero!
You're absolutely right. Just
