Best. Gay. Week. Ever. (June 8, 2007)AT LEAST DAVID HYDE "MY LIFE IS AN OPEN BOOK" PIERCE DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THANKING HIS PARTNER Sunday night brings the Tony Awards to the Below you'll find a couple pages of pics and info about out nominees. If that doesn't really suit you, then skip to page four for our exclusive nude photos of Hugh Jackman. Out actor David Hyde Pierce is not only presenting, but nominated for "Leading Man in a Musical" for his role in Curtains. Fortunately for David, from everything I've read he need not worry about having to thank partner Brian Hargrove in his acceptance speech because the sure winner in this category is... Raul Esparza who stars in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company. Esparza gave an interview earlier in the year to The New York Times in which he came out as bisexual. It will be interesting to see who he thanks in his acceptance speech. Esparza sang a song from Company this week on Regis and Kelly that was rather amusing as that crowd is definitely more Phantom of the Opera than Sondheim, and I half expected booing when a chandelier didn't come crashing down. Another nominee likely to have to settle for the honor of being nominated is... Douglas Carter Beane who is up for Best Play for The Little Dog Laughed, his satirical take on the Hollywood closet that got more buzz for getting Tom Everett Scott nekkid on stage than for the actual laughs in the play. I saw it and really didn't care for it, nor did too many others, as it closed sooner than expected. Julie White, who played a rapacious Hollywood agent, ran off with the production and might just snag herself a Tony Sunday night. Submitted by on Sat, 2007-06-09 10:03. |
