Best. Gay. Week. Ever. (August 17, 2007)

THIS WEEK IN GAY ENTERTAINMENT: REALITY TAKES CENTER STAGE

Other than critically beloved teen raunch-out Superbad (which actually looks to be very gay-friendly in its joking exploration of straight male bonding), we've got Death at a Funeral hitting theatres this weekend ... although our reviewer found the supposed comedy to be about as funny as its somber subject.

Fans of Peter Dinklage (who plays gay here again after a similar turn in The Baxter) might want to check it out, and Firefly nuts will doubtless want to see the film just to see Alan Tudyk's elaborately-staged nude scene (sorry, unlike the full-frontal gag in The Simpsons Movie, there's no consolation dangle here).

On DVD we've got pretty much nothing on the horizon this week, unfortunately. How about TV? Well, there will doubtless be fallout from the gay kiss on As the World Turns, and although next week's Greek seems to be focused on Casey/Cappie, no doubt Calvin and Heath will pop up here and there. I actually liked how this week's episode managed to move their relationship along without being about there relationship at all. And Calvin seems to be using the comfort he's getting from his relationship to work toward coming out to his frat brothers.

This week it was reported that Greek has been picked up by one of the BBC channels, so for once we'll be sending some solid gay storylines to the UK!

Who Wants to Be a Superhero will be back with what will doubtless be another insanely campy test of wills and fashion sense, and with it, gay contestant Parthenon, who has done a smash-up job so far. I love me my gay heroes and all, but what I really want to know is who this villain is (Doctor Black Party or whatever) and why he's always shown lounging in a pad apparently designed by Sparkle Josh from Design Star.

Speaking of which, Josh is still in the running toward becoming America's Next Top Gay HGTV Superstar, while Dale barely squeaked past elimination last week (in a rare display of charity by the judges) and will be back on Top Chef to redo last week's challenge with the rest of the chefketeers.

Flipping Out's love-him-or-hate-him maniac realty maven Jeff Lewis will be back with all sorts of drama (and Monkey the cat, lest we forget), and we'll be running a freshly-squeezed interview with him that reveals a lot about the guy that you don't get from the show, so be sure to check back.

Other than that, it's high time you took a few early days and kicked back to enjoy the tail-end of summer. But while you're at it, be sure to have the Best. Gay. Week. Ever!

Thanks for refreshing our senses with Towel Wear

I wish they would bring back small towels those with the slit all the way to the hip. Great to see all those scenes. ~v~

Rubbish transvestite's rubbish spelling

Walliams, Brian, it's David Walliams. He changed his actual, normally-spelled, surname to a pretentious stagey one. We Brits are like that. Sorry.

Are you kidding?!

How utterly bizarre. We just can't keep up with you lot!

More Bear With Hair!

These towel-clad soap stars are buff and hairless? Is there an unwritten code that half-naked men on soaps need to be waxed all over? Give me a man with hair. Long, beautiful hair. Especially on the chest! Woof! Those soap guys are too metrosexual for me!

Not the only, just the best.

Brian, GH(that's General Hospital for the soap impaired)also had a gay teen come out from a major soap family-the Spencers -of the famous 'Luke and Laura' Spencers. He's Luke's nephew and namesake-yep another gay Luke. GH just pretty much sucked at it so much that we'd like to forget it.
