Best. Gay. Week. Ever. (October 31, 2008)
FOR YOUR TV-VIEWING PLEASURE
Clockwise from top left: Degrassi's Adamo Ruggiero, Saturday is David Bromstad on Color Splash and this week Graham Norton sits down with Ricky Gervais and Thandie Newton. Those aren’t bad guests, but they’re not as good as Jennifer Saunders, Cyndi Lauper and Goldie Hawn from the previous two weeks. And this week’s Saturday Night’s Unbuttoned on Logo (AfterElton.com’s parent company) features short films including Bugcrush, Beyond Lovely, Heartland, Prada Handbag and Float. Also on Logo on Saturday night is their documentary series Ten More Good Years about the issues facing senior GLBT folks. Even with Mad Men having wrapped up last week, Sunday night is still just about the gayest night on TV. This week we’ve got the finale of Little Britain USA, a new Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters (here is last week's recap in case you missed it!), Skins, and Entourage. On Monday we’ve got the finale of Raising the Bar, but with Charlie having already come out, don’t hold your breath for much of a storyline with him. Ditto Eric on Gossip Girl. Lance Bass marches, er, dances on Dancing with the Stars and, of course, there is Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother. You can see if Lance survived another week on Tuesday’s results episode of DWTS and Marco will surely be baking something on CW’s Privileged. Plus there is Paris Hilton’s New BFF on MTV if you really don’t want to have to think much. Or at all. Fans of out actor Russell Tovey will want to check out the BBC’s new production of Little Dorrit (alas, it’s not currently scheduled to run on BBC America). The out actor plays John Chivery.

Wednesday delivers The New Adventures of Old Christine,
another episode of Bravo’s Top Thursday is the resurgent Ugly Betty, the bromance of "Charm" on Survivor: Gabon, plus new episodes of The Sarah Silverman Program, and Tim Gunn’s Guide To Style.

FOR YOUR MOVIE-VIEWING PLEASURE It’s fall, so that means a flood of creepy, Halloween-related films, from the heavily promoted The Haunting of Molly Hartley, starring Gossip Girl’s Chance Crawford, to the low budget indie darling Splinter. Incidentally, how was Saw 5? I didn’t get to go because my partner faints at the sight of cranberry juice. [Editor’s note: as said partner, I deny this charge of wimpiness. It was tomato juice, not cranberry!]
