Best. Gay. Week. Ever! Will the Real "Glee" Stand Up? Is "Brothers & Sisters" Back?

THIS IS STILL CBS. SO LET'S NOT GET CARRIED AWAY...
I know we're only a couple of weeks into the fall television season, but it seems like there is already a fair bit to say about what is working ... and what isn't.

First the bad news for the two of you watching ABC's The Whole Truth. While it won't be the first show to get canceled (hello, Lone Star and My Generation!) it looks pretty well doomed. Which is a shame as Alejo (Anthony Ruviviar) is pretty great and last week's episode not only featured a funny moment in a strip club where he made it very clear he wasn't interested in the ladies shaking their bon-bons, but the episode also frequently referenced the fact Alejo is gay in completely casual ways. It truly seems like a shame we're never going to get to see where this character might have gone.

Another show with a gay character that doesn't seem long for this world is Fox's Running Wilde which just keeps sinking in the ratings. Fortunately, the loss of Mr. Lunt won't be any great blow to gay visibility.

As for How I Met Your Mother, I'm done with it. The first episode was awful and I just can't watch anymore. Okay, I'll watch the Robin Sparkles episode, but that's it. Someone notify me when Neil Patrick Harris gets his own show worthy of his talents.

While the first episode of Modern Family was really subpar IMHO, "This Kiss" was great as was the earthquake episode although it was ... shaky in places. (Sorry, I couldn't resist!) Mostly, I thought Nathan Lane was too much of a ham, but I loved Jesse Tyler Ferguson

I confess to never having watched CBS' The Good Wife last season, but inspired by the addition of Dallas Roberts as Alicia's gay brother Owen, I started watching the new season and am pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying the legal drama. And as a bonus I've got the first pics of Roberts as Owen!

Naturally, I had to add some editorial opinion to them...

His first episode is called "Breaking Fast" and airs next week. Apparently he says something not very nice about Peter and it goes viral. And in case you didn't know, the show also features Alan Cumming who is just terrific.

Top Chef Just Desserts has turned out to be the perfect show to replace Bravo's Work of Art and with three members of Team Cupcake still in the running, it's not too late to join the fun, especially since Steven Frank is having so much fun with the recaps. Seriously, Steven is hysterical and reading his recap just might be the highlight of my week.

Speaking of Bravo, for some inexplicable reason they've decided to bring back the awful The Fashion Show for a second try. Personally I say "Deal with it, Bravo; Project Runway is gone. Let it go!" It's like they are trying to replace a deceased spouse by finding someone who is an exact replica of their dearly departed. It's creepy!

And speaking of recaps, Caprica returned to SyFy this week and Heather Hogan is giving it her patented Facebook treatment! And folks really seem to be interested in Teddy's story on 90210 as the recap is getting a ton of traffic and lots of comments. And I'm having a lot of fun recapping it and that doesn't even count the heavy drinking involved!

If you watched NBC's Undercovers this week, a minor secondary character was outed, but since the show is tanking, we'll just move along.

Next page! And the winner in the battle to be Kurt's boyfriend is...
