News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Best. Gay. Week. Ever. (May 2, 2008)

FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE!
There really isn't anything at the box office or on DVD this week. The best I can do for you is if live in Hollywood or subscribe to here! in which case you can check out Robert Gant's spy movie Kiss Me Deadly which also features Shannen Doherty. Unfortunately, I didn't get a screener in time to preview, but we we'll review it as soon as we can.

True, it doesn't look to be nearly as pro-gay as Criminal Minds, but we have to take what we can get.

On this week's Graham Norton, Martin Sheen, Ed Burns, and singer Will i Am all drop by. Also on Saturday night is the increasingly odd Groomer Has It. First we had groomers sniffing dog bottoms and last week it was a discusson of whether you comb tangles out of a female dog's...nevermind. Oh, and I did some checking around and in addition to host Jai Rodriguez, the show's out contestants include Will, Jonathan and Jorge. Because I know you were just dying to find that out.

FYI, it appears that Jonathan and Jorge hate each other.

Sunday night is a big night on ABC. Bob and Lee are back again on Desperate Housewives, but it looks like they again appear as comic fodder there for the laughs. And so does their upcoming committment ceremony. Sigh.... We also got news this week that Gale Harold is joining the show, something that generated a lot of discussion.

For you Brothers & Sisters fans, Sunday night is going to be a big night. For those of you who hate Justin and Rebecca, get ready to hate even more, but for those Kevin and Scotty fans, it's going to be g-r-r-r-eat! It's also a big night for Uncle Saul. I saw the episode earlier this week and one storyline involving Saul that I'd been told would unfold in the season finale, actually happens this week. Let's just say that Saul and Kevin have a bonding moment after the ramifications of Saul's actions reallly hit him.

But Kevin and Saul's moment is nothing like Kevin and Scotty's, and I dare say there are going to be some very happy folks out there.

It's been a while since we've had an asterisk quiz, so I thought I'd do one for the B&S season finale which airs on May 11th.

When ******'* ******* won't **** ** the ********** ********, ***** drags ****** *** ***** to ******* to *** ** ******** them ** ******. **** ***'* because of ***** ********* *******, but ******'* *** does **** ***** a ******* **** to **** ** his ***.

Okay, that oughta keep you busy for a while!

This week we've also got new episodes of Greek, Dancing with the Stars, Reaper, Work Out, Ugly Betty and Step It Up and Dance. Monday's Gossip Girl finally "reveals" who the gay character is. Anyone else annoyed with how the show is trying to hype it?

Also, Thursday's Grey's Anatomy is the one about the gay soldiers. I tried to pry details out of ABC about the storyline, but it was almost as bad as trying to get Dick Cheney to testify under oath (at least the publicist didn't try to shoot me by "accident"). I did learn that one of the soldiers is part of Meredith's clinical trial. Given that her trial involves brain tumors, I'm a little suspicious that our kiss is not going to be coming under happy circumstances such as a surprise wedding. Again, this probably won't be as great as Criminal Minds, unless the brain tumor turns the gay soldier into a serial killer, but we'll take what we can get!

BTW, I checked with Showtime about The Tudors and it looks like no more nookie for George Boleyn (Padraic Delaney and Mark Smeaton (David Alpay) . In fact, things look they might be "headed" in a bad direction for both of them.
