Van Hansis' acting chops and the welcome smattering of beefcake aside, we've received many comments from readers questioning why we continue to provide so much coverage for As the World Turns when Verbotene Liebe is obviously the better show.

No argument there, but As the World Turns has one other thing going for it that Verbotene Liebe can't really duplicate: Brian Juergen's liveblogs! His exceedingly popular realtime recaps of episodes which feature Luke & Noah never fail to make me laugh out loud. I'm almost glad when the show itself devolves into inanity (as it often does these days) because I can be sure that Brian will find the fun in it. Verbotene Liebe, being a better show, isn't quite as as rich a target for humor as ATWT is. (And Ollian fans on the site have made it clear they prefer their Verbotene Liebe coverage snark-free.)

The one problem with Brian's liveblogs for ATWT is that they can be a tough nut to crack for the uninitiated. If you don't watch the show and aren't already familiar with the characters, then Brian's many running jokes and character nicknames would easily be lost on you. If it helps, here a handy reference guide to help you sort out who's who....
