Second up: The Happening.

This is M. Night Shyamalan's first R-rated film. It stars Mark Wahlberg and one of my favorite actresses, Zooey Deschanel. I can't decide whether it looks really scary or really silly.

TV THIS WEEK

The Tony Awards air this Sunday at 8:00pm EST on CBS. Whoopi Goldberg is hosting. You can find the full list of nominees here, but we do have a few favorites to root for:

Xanadu was nominated for Best Musical, as was Cry-Baby, the new musical based on the John Waters film, In the Heights, and Passing Strange.

Out gay British actor Ben Daniels has drawn absolutely rave reviews for his performance in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. He's favored to win the Best Actor in a Play trophy.

Out actor Robin De Jesus (Camp) is up for Featured Actor in a Musical based on his performance in In the Heights.

The awards show will feature musical numbers from all four of the Best Musical nominees, so even though Cheyenne Jackson missed out on a Tony nomination this year for his work in Xanadu, you still might get to see him perform.

I'm particularly interested in the musical numbers because to my way of thinking that's what makes or breaks a Tony awards telecast.

For what it's worth here's my all time favorite Tony Awards performance. Jennifer Holliday doing her big Dreamgirls number in 1982:
