News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Best. Gay. Week. Ever. (September 28, 2007)

This is Ricky

Ricky is 35, comes from Escondido, CA and is the 12th of 14 children. Something tells me Ricky is a cinch to win any challenge involving making over hand-me downs! Ricky studied dance and costume design at California State University before heading off to New York to pursue dancing. Apparently being a type-A personality, Ricky also designed costumes for the dance company and his work there led him to work for the Valentino label then for the Oscar de la Renta lingerie line. He started his own label in 2004 and his garments are being sold at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Gee, too bad I'm a Target fella myself.

My only concern about Ricky is that hat which even a fashion disaster like myself knows is a no-no unless you're a train conductor or a six-year-old who wants to grow up to be a train conductor.

This is Steven

Steven is the baby-gay for this cycle, clocking in at only 30-years-old. Steven attended Columbia College and now works for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago as Textile Preparator. (I googled "textile preparator" and only got two returns including Steven's Bravo bio. This means his skill is either highly unusual or he made it up! Yes, that's a joke, Steven. No lawsuits, please!)

According to Steven's bio, his budding talents were first noticed "when he was in grade school and he spent his free time drawing figures, designing gowns and exploring fabrics." No doubt some of his free time was also spent running from bullies, though look who's got the last laugh now. And check out how he's rocking that lavender shirt!

FYI, Project Runway returns November 14th. For all of the info on the contestants and to watch videos of the guys check out Bravo's official site!
