Brothers and Sisters, Help Me Help You updates

absoluthunk1.jpgI was just checking out Michael Ausiello's weekly column and found a couple of interesting tidbits. According to Ausiello, the actor playing Kevin's third love interest on Brothers & Sisters (following Scotty and Jason Lewis' upcoming stint) isn't necessarily a done deal. This is supposed to be Kevin's long term love interest and is someone he meets through Kitty (hence our speculation is might have been Rob Lowe's republican Senator). But Ausiello says that the actor's appearance is "contingent on something taking place behind the scenes". Hmm, I wonder what that means? Negotiating over money? The length of the role? How much kissing will be involved? Hard to say, but I hope it gets resolved. B&S has done a great job with Kevin's character so far and I'd hate to see that lag because of some business related issue. (BTW, do you like the picture of Jason? I've been waiting for a chance to use it!) In regards to Help Me Help You, Ausiello tells readers something that can't come as a surprise to too many folks who regularly follow my rants: HMHY is on life-support. Apparently the show's executive producer, Ali Rushfield, is trying to drum up support of the sitcom telling Ausiello if the ratings don't go up soon, the show is doomed. Despite my feelings about HMHY, I do feel bad for everyone involved. Getting a show to pilot much less actually on the air is a monstrous undertaking and represents years of work. To make it that far only to have it die, well, sucks. I feel for them, but the tribe has spoken. johnamos1.jpgOne other bit of news that I forgot to mention last week: Men in Trees is currently auditioning some fairly big names to play the love interest of Buzz (John Amos) gay son. It's going to be a multi episode arc to air next year. I'll keep you posted as to who gets cast. With any luck we'll have another quality gay relationship to give us a reason to tune into Ms. Heche's show.
