How Stella's Groove Got Back At Her

plummer.jpgOver a year ago, author best-selling author Terry McMillan went on The Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about how she was betrayed by her younger husband, Jonathan Plummer. Plummer was reportedly the inspiration for McMillan's bestselling novel, "How Stella Got Her Groove Back." But turns out he was secretly gay and seeing men on the side all through their six-year marriage. McMillan felt justifiably betrayed. But by some accounts she might have overreacted a bit. According to Plummer, his ex-wife used gay slurs in letters and phone messages to him, and even left him a bottle of Jamaican hot pepper sauce on which she wrote, "Fag Juice Burn Baby Burn." Its sort of hard to figure out who to root for in this squabble, but seems like they both would better off just burying the hatchet. That's not likely anytime soon. McMillan is reportedly at work on a book about her failed marriage. Surprisingly, her ex-husband might beat her to the punch. According to EURweb.com he just signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster to write a tell-all. Says Plummer, "A black woman scorned is the worst kind of scorn -- and I've felt it from Terry,' That's why I'm doing this (book) -- to help (black men who have come out of the closet) and to give my spin on things.' " His book is scheduled for release this summer. Meanwhile, he's taken a job at a hair salon not ten minutes from his ex-wife's home.
