Brent hits USA Today

SplitScreen.jpgPretty much any novelist will tell you one of the hardest parts of the job is getting publicity for your books. Trying to compete with Britney's shaving of various body parts is hard work! That's why today, Brent (he's my partner and AfterElton columnist) and I are doing the happy dance thanks to not one, but two great mentions in the latest edition of USA Today for his new book Split Screen: Attack of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies/Bride of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies. PopCandy blogger Whitney Friedlander not only links to my interview with Brent in her blog, but also the first chapter of the book. Oh, and she says he might just be the next Judy Blume. How cool is that? (But don't tell Brent about that part. I don't want his ego swelling up too much!) Then the print edition also carries a rave review of the book which is Brent's very clever (what--me biased?) two-books in one sequel to Geography Club. This came just in time as Brent was considering getting publicity for the book by making me shave my entire body in Times Square and then get the cover tattooed on my bum!
