"Torchwood: Children of Earth: Day Five" minicap

After the explosive action of Day Four, Day Five screeches in, albeit with less of the pulsating chill found in the episode’s predecessor.

Instead, the atmosphere of the final episode seems to hinge on tying up loose ends, and perhaps (fittingly so), lacks the unnerving tension intrinsic to the rest of the miniseries.

I didn’t manage to get to sleep last night, and no, it had nothing to do with the escalating economic crisis or my mounting To Do list. It was because I was sitting up eagerly anticipating the return of Torchwood here in the U.K.! You poor Yanks have to wait until July 20th when BBC America will air it.

After the harrowing emotional overload of the Season 2 finale, the show is finally back and has been upgraded to BBC One — the most accessible BBC station, and is being broadcast over five consecutive nights as an epic sci-fi feast for the senses.

Keep reading for my minicap, but be be warned there are spoilers! (And note: AfterElton.com will have more extensive coverge when the show airs in the U.S.)
