"Degrassi" alum Adamo Ruggiero dons his gay apparel
While you were waiting for the new gay kid on Degrassi: The Next Generation to come out to himself, the actor who played that teen soap's trailblazing homo has lined up a new gig. Find out more after the break! Adamo Ruggiero, best known as gay teen Marco DelRossi on D:TNG, will star in the new queer Christmas comedy Make the Yuletide Gay, about a gay man (newcomer Keith Jordan) who abandons his boyfriend (Ruggiero) over the holidays to go home to his family, none of whom know he's out. But then the boyfriend shows up unexpectedly and wackiness, presumably, ensues.
The film also features actress Alison Arngrim (if there was a Fictional Bitch Hall of Fame, Arngrim's Nellie Olson character from Little House on the Prairie would be on the souvenir totebag) and Emmy-winning The Bold and the Beautiful star Ian Buchanan, as well as gay indie-film vets Derek Long (Socket, 3-Day Weekend) and East Side Story's Steve Callahan (below).
Writer-director Rob Williams (Back Soon, 3-Day Weekend) said in a statement that "Christmas comedies are a staple of the holiday movie-watching season, and with Make The Yuletide Gay, we hope to create a family-friendly, gay-inclusive Christmas film that can be enjoyed by a wide audience, especially by gay teens and their parents together." Look for the movie to hit ring-a-dem-bells during the 2009 holiday season. Submitted by on Wed, 2008-11-12 17:16. |
