In case you doubted that "Pineapple Express" was a gay love story
I recently posited the notion that Pineapple Express transcended mere "bromance" and was, in fact, a queer love story, with James Franco's stoner Saul character clearly smitten with Seth Rogen's Dale. (And really, who could blame him? Even you fat-phobic gays out there could get behind the new slim-and-trim look that the adorable Rogen featured at the recent Golden Globes ceremony.) Now that Pineapple Express is out on DVD, we get to see an alternate ending in which the heroes don't win, but their man-on-man affection still shines through. Enjoy, after the break.

And that in a nutshell is the good and bad of "Pineapple"
Loved the chemistry between Rogen and Franco, and some of the deadpan humor; hated hated HATED all the gunplay, mayhem, and violence, which was really out of control. Based on this and "Superbad," which also featured some lengthy sequences of gunplay, explosions, and mayhem, I wonder about some of Rogen's masculinity issues.
