Adam Lambert "Plays That Funky Music," Neil Patrick Harris approves

I should probably be getting tired of saying this by now, but Adam Lambert once again pulled out all the stops last night and managed to make a souped-up version of "Play That Funky Music, White Boy" not go down in flames like the smoking ball of cheese that it by all rights should have been.

Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought he pulled it off: Neil Patrick Harris was in the audience (again!) and he told reporters, "Adam did tear it up vocally tonight. No male in this competition has sung so well. He really hit those notes."

I didn't see NPH in the crowd (although I did notice David Spade parked distractingly right behind Randy Jackson's head), so here's a pic of him accepting his Streamy Award this weekend instead:

So it looks like Adam hasn't lost any of his heat. Who do you think is in trouble tonight, and what do you think our favorite "theatrical" contestant has up his sleeve next?
