In a continued effort to bring you all that is important in the world of gay entertainment and ensure that you are being spoon-fed images of gorgeous, commoditized manflesh, we present the newly-minted AfterElton Briefs. Following the usual assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.
- The theatrical trailer for gay director Tom Kalin's Savage Grace, which stars Julianne Moore as murdered Bakelite heiress Barbara Daly Baekeland, is now online. Looks pretty good, as does the shmancy new poster, above.
- A new tell-all from former MTV exec Terrence Dean promises to blow the closet doors off the hip hop music industry.
Carson Kressley
- Gay glitterati of all stripes (including Carson Kressley, Heather Matarazzo and girlfriend Caroline Kennedy, Christine Vachon, and film exec Andrew Saffir) turned out last night at the premiere of Helen Hunt's directorial debut, Then She Found Me. Why? I have absolutely no idea.
- Another posthumous outing of a closeted and by all accounts fairly bittersweet Hollywood success story: Raymond Burr. I think it was pretty well-known already, but a new biography dots the i's and crosses the t's.
And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
Out and proud Instinct covermodel Brandon Kneefel!

Greatly looking-forward to "Savage Grace"
Gay celebs at film premiere
I don't know about the rest, but Carson was probably there for four simple words:
"Also starring Bette Midler".
And is Raymond Burr the new Michael Stipe?

Forbidden Love?
What happened to all the Forbidden Love threads? There's no "More" button to scroll through the blog posts anymore, the search button brings up nothing, and it's not listed in the TV section.
What gives?
The Perry Mason of Love

"It takes a village (to make Village People)"
Mojo Nixon said it best ("I ain't talkin' bout no Ironsides!"). We all knew why Paul Drake came into Perry's office through the back door. Actually, Raymond Burr was a fine actor who inspired incredible loyalty from his friends. He had weight problems and grew orchids--what's not to like? And who else in Hollywood (other than Marlon Brando and Gilligan) owned his own island? He was something of a heartthrob back in the day. I once suggested that Jake Gyllenhaal would be ideal to play him in a biopic.
Actually Lea DeLaria would be ideal to play him in a biopic
Yeah, but he wouldn't have done the Bush twins

Here's a picture of the "young" Raymond Burr:
See what I mean? Great calf eyes, sensuous mouth? Just wait till the Drag Kings start doing Jake. I shudder to think what his drag name might be!
