AfterElton Briefs: Matthew Rhys kicked in the face, gay Mexican wrestlers, and more!

Sorry, just one more because they're so darn cute! Scott Bailey, Ryan Kelley, Sigourney Weaver

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • Despite calls for a boycott of this year's Utah-based shenanigans, the Queer Lounge will be a part of the Sundance Film Festival, as usual.
  • Meet Exotico Cassandro, the gay and very flamboyant Lucha Libre wrestler who is taking the world by storm.
  • Actor Matthew Rhys was kicked in the face by a cow after after forced it to watch an entire season of Brothers & Sisters during filming of his new overseas cowboy show, The Magnificent Seven with Matthew Rhys (no joking, that's the real title).

  • Above, comic Dan Finnerty enlists his Hollywood pals (including a shirt-rending Neil Patrick Harris, Christopher Guest, Janeane Garofalo, Macy Gray, Sheryl Crow, Matthew Perry, Cheri Oteri, Kathy Najimy, Nathan Fillion, Meg Ryan and more) to sing a song about not bombing anyone this Christmas. (some language NSFW)
  • Joe Swash (he of the bug-bitten bum) won the title of King of the Jungle on the gayest season ever of I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! and upon winning the competition declared his undying love for gay fellow contestant George Takei. Awww!
  • Out British comic Alan Carr has come under fire (and apologized) for referring to a woman arrested for kidnapping and imprisoning her own child as a "gay icon". Maybe he confused her with Britney Spears?

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

This guy!

King of the Jungle

Joe Swash was a good winner of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. A nice, heterosexual boy who's secure in his own sexuality and has no problem embracing and kissing a gay man or lesbian woman. Goerge Takei came third in the competition and Martina Navratilova came second and both seemed delighted that young Swash had won. It's understandable. He seems like a thoroughly good kid. He had no problem saying he loved Takei because Takei is simply lovable and flirting like a good'un with Navratilova simply because she's come across  as a good woman, too. It sounds horribly daft, but I was actually quite proud of my country in this competition. The voters spent their money in a phone vote electing someone who is inclusive and passionate about people just being accepted for themselves. They ignored sexualities and nationalities when it came to deciding on the most pleasant people on the show. Damn, it's over for another year.

Bespectacled cuties?

Anyone know who the two guys with glasses are in Dan Finnerty's "Please Don't Bomb Nobody" video? They look familar, but I'm not recognizing them.
