AfterElton Briefs: Sting goes all the way for "Little Britain", Logo goes uncensored with Levi's, and more!

David Walliams (as Little Britain's Emily) and Sting (as himself)

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • Apparently we can look forward to seeing Sting making out with one of David Walliam's many unhinged characters on Little Britain USA. (Be sure to check back here for our review of the series later this week!)
  • This recent Newsweek article on the lives of gay seniors is a downright horrifying wake-up call to anyone planning on enjoying their Golden (Girls) Years without having to fight.
  • MAD TV ran two new gay-themed sketches over the weekend: A parody video of Ellen DeGeneres doing "I Kissed a Girl" (which should be awful but MAN does she nail the impersonation!) and a rather scathing eHarmony ad with a "reformed gay" and his new wife. GoodAsYou has got 'em both.
Out gold medalist Matthew Mitcham

  • Rumors are swirling about regarding out Olympic champion Matthew Mitcham booking an as-yet-elusive national sponsorship.
  • Logo (our parent company, of course) has launched a programming partnership with Levi's called Levi's Presents Logo Unbuttoned, in which the net will showcase unedited movies, television, and performances late every Saturday night. Uncut movies and Queer as Folk? Say it ain't so. For more info, check out the saucy I Am Unbuttoned website.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

Aussie model Bryan Thomas!

Yay Logo!

It's bugged me since Logo first started up that they've had to edit their content so heavily. It seems to me that Logo has been cutting and bleeping out things that other basic cable networks are regularly allowed to broadcast. Comedy Central began showing uncensored and unedited programming in their late-night weekend timeslots a while ago. I'm very glad to see Logo following in their footsteps, especially if it means allowing uncensored nudity and sexual content as well as language. If word gets out that folks can finally catch up on the full original versions of gay flicks and TV shows without renting or buying them on DVD, this could do wonders for Logo's ratings.

YEE-HAW!!

There've been a lot of movies run on Logo that I've caught in passing, like "Coffee Date" "WTC View" "East Side Story" "Outing Riley" and others, and I've thought, "I'd love to watch this, but I don't want to if I'm only getting the hacked-up version."  Now I can DVR the uncut originals and catch up on some of the good stuff I've been missing.  Yay!

Finally! LOGO Got It Right!

But why just one night? Why not go uncensored from midnight to 6:00am 7 days a week? The networks' choppy, sometimes unecessary editing of shows(on QAF,why was Michael & Ben's post-sex discussion in the season 4 opener cut out entirely?)is annoying.

And they'll finally show movies uncut and uncensored. YES!
