the advocate petition..........
yeah, don't understand why we gays would be to blame. hatred is always going to be around....no matter who a person is. that is what his murder was really. HATRED and IGNORANCE. encouraging people to be who they are is not anyone's fault.
if that was the case, then we'd all be in screaming matches every freaking day of our lives for the death of a gay person, a jewish person, black person, asian, you name it.
but on the other hand....if we truly are to blame, (i say this while rolling my eyes) then hey....i can go back in the closet and feel ashamed and weirded out by myself. eh

"It takes a village (to make Village People)"
I never know where to post newsworthy items on this site, but most of us will be relieved--I say--relieved to find out that Jay Leno has apologized for his anti-gay remarks to Ryan Phillippe. Here's the story according to Salon:
Jay Leno apologized Tuesday for on-air remarks he made during a chat with Ryan Phillippe that were then criticized by gay activists and others.
"In talking about Ryan's first role, I realize that what I said came out wrong," the host of NBC's Tonight Show said in a statement to PEOPLE. "I certainly didn't mean any malice. I agree it was a dumb thing to say, and I apologize."
Last week, while talking with Phillippe (whose appearance was keyed to his new movie Stop-Loss), Leno, 57, said to the actor, "Can you give me, like -- say that camera is your gay lover ..." (Phillippe's first role was as a gay character on a soap opera).
Leno then went on to say, "Can you give me your 'gayest look?' "
