Since I was a little girl I have been in love with the Oscars! I always said I am a Gay man in a straight woman's body! Now I know that to be true! Much love Mr. ANT and LOVED the video!
xo,
Janine the Queen of Bellevue
I tried to be first and FAILED MISERABLY because I am at work.
The Oscars are one of the best nights of the year for me. I like to set up camp about 2 or 3 o'clock and watch ALL of the Red Carpet stuff. Although, if I were lucky enough to get to be there, I'd surely think of some better questions, so the actors don't have to keep repeating the same thing over and over again. I'd take one of those silly "Getting to Know You" emails that everyone forwards on MySpace and randomly choose questions from there:Would you rather skydive or scuba dive and why? What was the first thing you thought when you woke up?When is the last time you were in a swimming pool? What were you doing at midnight last night? What animal do you feel you most resemble?
Last night was GREAT – I loved Jon Stewart!Ami ANT here with your Caramel Macchiato
HAYYYYYYYYY!
Good Stuff, ANT! Loving Jackie & Mavis!
Best Comedic Performance (straight or gay) goes to.....ANT!
Attack of the ANT's
that was fun.
I think the two place gays have to do the most "straight" acting is the mall and the locker room. I can see both of those being a big challenge:)
I was also going to say that I think the switch from the GLBT community to the LGBT community came for the rule of ladies first...but then I thought in this case that would be a hard one to decide....who's more girly....the lezzies or the gays?? Maybe then "they" decided it should just switch everyonce in a while and we'll just take turns:)
LONG LIVE THE ANT COLONY
Squirrel Pie
ANT is so true.
My mom played straight until she died at 40, bless her heart. So my Oscar goes to my beautiful, magical, closeted mommy. She would have worn a deep blue STUNNING dress last night, with a non-updo do, and would have made all of the Best Dressed lists this morning.
Love to ANT and all present and future Colonists. Y'all come see us!

Straight-acting... so much
Hi!!!!
Er...well if you were still
Er...well if you were still being thrown into a locker, you obviously weren't acting very straight then lol. Thankfully in the UK we don't really have lockers and the most bullying I got was a few homophobic slurs hurled at me in the changing rooms because I was a boff and I wasn't that good at football like all the rest of the 'straight' guys were. So it wasn't because I was camp or effeminate necessarily...they used other stereotypes as well in order to make their assumptions on who the gay kid was, though admittedly camp or effeminate is the main one generally.
Me personally, I think I am a little camp sometimes, especially when I'm excited but numerous other people have told me that I'm not stereotypically gay in the slightest. So I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not. Heck I even have my gay mates calling me a faux gay and a 'straight' just because I like to burp a lot and say 'bloke'. And I'm like what? If i'm gay can't I burp now? Stereotypes eh, they are the bane of our existence. You are certainly right that we should be ourselves Ant. It's just a shame that people use that to make assumptions on us before they even know anything about us. Then none of the LGBT community would have to straight-act.
I'm rambling...I think I must be getting prepared for the Big LGBTQ Debate at my Uni this week lol!
funny but sad too.....
I am glad you have your "own holiday!" LOL Fun for all though I think! Who doesn't look forward to the glitz and the glamour?
I am sad though about what you said about having to act as a child etc...so sad to think of you as a kid having to go through that....Middle school and High school are tough enough as it is.... and to add to it the need for children to hide who they really are....just very sad. Glad you had your "girls" there to help you out though!
I can only hope it is becoming easier these days for adolescents to be able to stand proud of who they are...without fear.
Loved the video ANT xo
straight acting
I got so good at straight acting that I even fooled myself into thinking that I was not really gay and that the urges I was having were just fantasies. As to why we "Gays" love the Oscars? I for one do not. I don't get into the awards because most of the movies that are awarded are not movies that I enjoy watching. I am more of a fan of he MTV movie awards, at least they have different categories such as best kiss(of which Brokeback Mountain won), and best fight and action scenes.
But I am glad that Ant has his own feature on here, I think he is one of the funniest men alive!
First Episode
Showing some Colony love to you ANT.
Live for today and the future....not the past which we cannot change.
