AfterElton Snapshot: Your loaner sash for the week of June 12

YOUR CAPTION HERE
As we go into the weekend, here's a handy shortlist of the biggest stories of the week on AfterElton.com. And to get you into a playful mood, each week's final post will feature a pic up top that desperately needs captioning. Each week we'll pick our fave suggestion from the comments and run it in the following week's post. Have fun! Drop your caption ideas in the comments, and check out last week's winner after the jump!
- Big Gay News of the Week: Adam Lambert is a gay homosexual While it may not be a surprise to many of us, it's still awesome that the American Idol fave came out loud and proud in Rolling Stone, regardless of what Gene Simmons thinks. Lambert also won the Young Hollywood Artist of the Year award.
- The Tonys were kind of awesome, thanks mostly to NPH's hosting and Bret Michaels' accident. Know who didn't think it was awesome? Bret Michaels.
- The Homo Harlem film series to celebrate gay African-American trailblazers.
- Kathy Griffin brought some A-List to the D-List in the season premiere when she welcomed Bette Midler. We likey.
Lauren Graham and Bret Michaels at The Tony Awards
- Gay soaps! Our Gays of Our Lives column brought gay scoop on One Life to Live and steaminess from overseas. Meanwhile, Luke and Noah orbited around the gravity-inducing pecs of Officer Riley on As the World Turns.
- We celebrated some of our favorite hot gay nerds.
- The Rob, Arnie & Dawn Show apologized for their horrible comments about transgender or questioning children, and dedicated a 2-hour show to discussing the topic.
- Greek gave gay frat brother Heath (hey, remember him?!) a nice send-off.
- Stephen Colbert challenged Don't Ask Don't Tell on an Army base in Iraq. Awesome.
Out True Blood creator Alan Ball with stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin
- Sweet, sweet fangtasy baby: True Blood premiere pics, and Alan Ball's surprising revelation.
- Jake Nodar wrapped up the season of Out of the Wild with his last Alaskan recap. Thanks and congrats, Jake!
- We posted Beautiful People's third episode, in which Simon's terrifying grandmother comes to live with the family. For a while, anyway.
- We welcomed our new resident feline therapist Dr. Crankyboots and discussed his first topic: Why Bruno makes you nervous.
Andy Lazarus and Daniel Leary in Mores for Gays
- We took a look at effeminacy and why it's still under attack from gays and straights alike.
- VLOGS! Beautiful Moments with Simon Doonan discussed getting along beautifully with your famly, however crazy they may be. And Mores for Gays tackled locker room etiquette. (Get it? Tackled? Nyuk!)
- Carrie Prejean was fired as Miss California. We took a look at the media fallout.
- Pat Robertson was your Asshat of the Week. Shocker!
- And thanks to editor Michael Jensen, we had the Best.Gay.Week.Ever!
