AfterElton Snapshot: Your elimination ceremony for the week ending February 27
YOUR CAPTION HERE
As we go into the weekend, here's a handy shortlist of the biggest stories of the week on AfterElton.com. And to get you into a playful mood, each week's final post will feature a pic up top that desperately needs captioning. Each week we'll pick our fave suggestion from the comments and run it in the following week's post. Have fun! Drop your caption ideas in the comments, and check out last week's winner after the jump!
- The Big Gay News this week was of course the Gayest Oscars Ever, where Milk took two major awards and the winners spoke out for gay rights. Relive the magic by reading our liveblog or checking out some unfortunate fashions from the evening, or one of our contributors' controversial take on the acceptance speeches.
- The Amazing Race still has three gays in the game, and they're pretty awesome.
- Gloriously camp Britcom Beautiful People is headed to Logo this May. Hilarity will ensue, trust me.
- Well, Defamer went ahead and outed the gay character on the highly-anticipated Kings drama. Now why is it a secret in the first place, again?
- The upcoming Fame remake will indeed have a gay central character who wants to live forever, learn how to fly.
- Is it just us, or does George Will need a hug?
Forbidden Love
- Gay Soaps: Our Gays of Our Lives soaps column threw you all the soaps scoop you could handle, and then some. On As the World Turns Luke tried to set up Matt in a drug sting, on Hollyoaks things continued to heat up with the biangle, and on French dramedy Clara Sheller OMG DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?! Mercy! Plus, Olli and Christian actually showed up again on Forbidden Love!
- So the big gay wedding finale on Privileged was pretty awesome. Please save this show, CW! Oh, and here's why the wedding almost didn't happen.
- Aspiring drag superstar Ongina won our hearts on this week's RuPaul's Drag Race, and then squeezed them again when she delivered a donation to the Harvey Milk School.
- The NAACP officially called for the repeal of Proposition 8. Trust us.
- American Idol's gay-seeming finalists performed, but otherwise the show is as straightwashed as ever. Oh and also the show is much more entertaining without sound.
- The Flying Monkey was back to answer reader questions and remind me why Boy Meets World was the best show EVER.
- The Real World: Brooklyn finally let JD have his say. Was it worth the wait?
- We brought you some sweet exclusive pics from the star-studded Defying Inequality concert.

- Vlogs! Best Supporting Vlog wrapped up the Oscars in a tidy bow, which John Polly then wore on his lapel. Apropos of nothing, I rocked out with Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann.
- We reviewed some new gay books that focused on bohemia and Hollywood (same diff!).
- A whole article dedicated to fitting pants to man-buns? Sweet.
- Ugly Betty was back and knocked snicks' leg-warmers off with an action-packed episode.
- Jack Twist and Ace Ventura in Damn Yankees? If you say so!
- And thanks to Fashion Don't (and my boss, luvya!) Michael Jensen, we had the Best.Gay.Week.Ever!

Although desperate to become Broadway's longest running show, business just isn't what it used to be at "The Boy From Oz".
Big thanks to Andrew James for this week's winning caption!
