AfterElton Snapshot: Your merry man for the week ending December 19

YOUR CAPTION HERE

As we go into the weekend, here's a handy shortlist of the biggest stories of the week on AfterElton.com. And to get you into a playful mood, each week's final post will feature a pic up top that desperately needs captioning. Each week we'll pick our fave suggestion from the comments and run it in the following week's post. Have fun! Drop your caption ideas in the comments, and check out last week's winner after the jump!

Luke reunites with a new old friend

  • Gay Soaps: Our Gays of Our Lives soaps column brought you the results of the first annual GOOL Readers Choice Poll. Luke made up with Wheatables and welcomed Jade home by getting her arrested (oops!) on As the World Turns ... and with Olli out of town Christian stepped into the role of supportive gay bestie on Forbidden Love.
  • We interviewed the tiny-yet-enormously-talented Kristin Chenoweth.
  • Faves Rachel Maddow and Anderson Cooper tackled the topic of Obama's decision to invite aggressive Prop 8 advocate Rick Warren to deliver his inaugural invocation.
  • Blogging Broadway let its freak flag fly with a rave review of the gay-sensible Shrek the Musical.

Keep 'em coming, Milk men!

  • We got an exclusive look at the new Star Trek: Phase II episode that brought the long-lost "gay episode" to reality.
  • Despite being nearly shut out of the Golden Globes, Milk continues to rack up other noms and kudos.
  • Again we gotta ask, why the hell is no one sponsoring Matthew Mitcham?
  • Do Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker share the love that dare not meep its name?
  • Neil Patrick Harris is officially everywhere. Yes, even there.
The Best Supporting Vlog pushes the envelope

  • Vlogs! We giddily introduced the Best Supporting Vlog video blog, which will hold your hands through awards season like your intimacy-challenged ex never would. And Mores for Gays looked at the legacy of Harvey Milk as realized by the "gay schools" named in his honor.
  • Details are leaking about the upcoming Torchwood: Children of Earth miniseries, which is getting folks a wee bit excited.
  • The key to a perfect gay wedding? Anne Hathaway!
  • And thanks to Brent Hartinger, we had the Best.Gay.Week.Ever!

"Damn that Jennifer Aniston - it should have been Marley and ME!"

Big thanks to afhickman for this week's winning caption!
