"American Idol": Whole Lotta Lambehhhhrrrrrrrr

Adam and friend (All pics: GETTY)
Last night's rock-it-to-me-sock-it-to-me American Idol was, for me, the best night of the season so far. Not because I thought the performances, song choices, or guests were particularly solid, because they really weren't.
No, last night's round will go down in Idol history because of this:

Danny Gokey's Barbaric Yawp.
I don't know about you, but I've been waiting for Sally Jessie Smugpants to screw up since day one, but ohhhhmylanta I could not have predicted that when the moment came it would be so pure, so brilliant, and so much like the panicked call of a beached manatee. Seriously, how many of you have already made that moment of unadulterated sonic terror your ringtone?

Of course, Adam Lambehhrrrr ("It's French, bitch!") cleaned up in the rock department with his take on Led Zeppelin (the first time the group's music has ever been performed on the show, sweetness!) but the real win for Adam was the fact that, like any good gay, he shares his stylist with his girls, even when they're competitors.
The difference in body language between the duets was psych 101 material: Kris and Gokey tried to outshine one another (resulting in a sports bar karaoke duet you'd probably look up from your hot wings to take note of and then forget entirely) while Adam and Allison tried to make one another shine, and did.
"Give it up, Dave & Buster's! WOOOOT!"
This is how you do it.
We'll find out tonight if Adam and his li'l sis make the cut to the final three - join our Viewing Party to share every "ooh" and "aah" with your fellow fans!
But first, a few more pics from last night...
