And the Shear Genius is...

We'll have our recap post of the Shear Genius finale tomorrow, but we wanted to take a quick moment to congratulate the competition's winner, who proved that level-headedness, experience, and diplomatic savvy will get you a long way in reality television...

We just interviewed the lone gay man in the final three mere days ago and are thrilled that he walked away with the crown, although we have to say that we kind of fell hard for all three of the finalists. I mean, Daisy -- aside from being lesbian -- was hard-working, spirited, and consistent. And Ben, while lacking experience, had good instincts and was just about the sweetest, most emotionally evolved straight guy I've ever seen in a reality competition (did you see how hard he cried at the video of his girlfriend and mother and grandma? This one's a keeper!).

But hey -- this is hairdressing, and there are cultural stereotypes to uphold, right? Kidding -- stereotype or no, Anthony brought his A-game to the competition and is a deserving winner. Big congrats to him, and to Bravo for pulling off the impossible: making a show about haircuts entertaining to a bald guy like me.
