Angry Puppy video blog 17: Gay geeks on the Net

apuppy17apuppy17

In this week's episode of Angry Puppy, Marc and Lee talk about a few of their favorite gay geek websites (and mangle some names in the process). Marc's secret crush is revealed, and Lee reviews the Pride of Baghdad. Of course, you'll also get the now obligatory Torchwood review and learn some new ways to be involved with Angry Puppy.

The AE media player drives me nuts

I can only get it to work about 10% of the time. Any chance the puppy can be put on YouTube too?

    AE Media Player

Hey, Ben. I forwarded your message to people who may know something.

I haven't had any problems with this new media player, though I jump around on different browsers in my day job (web development) and have problems on some sites with the lesser used ones.

You might want to check your version of Flash as well. You can get the latest here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

    I hope that helps.

I say we take the warning labels off everything and let nature take it's course.

    Oh, SIX Stars for You

Especially for the tagline: "I say we take the warning labels off everything and let nature take it's course."

    Well said.

    That Pride Book

The same artist "Niko" something is doing this week's issue of Fables #70 so if you liked his art then I would pick up this issue if I were you.

Fables the Comic Book series is well written in general.

I highly recommend "The Immortal Iron Fist" from Marvel Comics. This is the best series on the stands.

Niko Henrichon / Pride of Baghdad

    Thanks, Metabaron.

I forgot to mention in the vlog why we brought this up at all! The book has actually been out for a while, but the paperback was just released last month, so I only just got it.

I know they do it to increase revenues, but I personally would buy a lot more stuff if publishers didn't wait so long to release the paperbacks. By the time they come out, I'm usually already into something new.

I'm not talking about TPB collections. Those obviously need to come out after the individual issues.

    I was just wondering...

...is Marc from Quebec or does he just have french heritage?

    Marc is from Paris...

...originally but grew up mostly in the US.

Although I enjoy cheese and Luc Besson films, I never quite acquired a taste for Edith Piaf.

    I bought Pride of Baghdad.

I recognised the Author's name from Lost when I saw it and bought it just on that. Quite enjoyed it: It was a clever idea and Niko's artwork was brilliant.

I have Bully, but stopped playing when I finished it. I really need to go back and try and try to kiss the male characters.
