    Thanks, another great vlog.I

    Thanks, another great vlog.

I liked the Sarah Jane Adventures but haven't seen to many as it was on when I'm working but I love Doctor Who, I was about 12 years old when Sarah Jane was the assistant in the 70's and always thought she was one of the best. It was all about the story though none of that falling in love with the Doctor back then, now every assistant seams to be crazy about him. Thinking about it though Sarah Jane had Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker as her Doctors so that probably wasn't going to happen anyway.  David Tennant, well, now you're talking.

Doctor Who starts the new series here in Britain tomorrow (yippee) and hopefully it will be as good as always. I haven't had a clue about the geek challanges since the Queen songs and I can't get this week's either, give me a clue.

Liking the shave and the haircut by the way, liked the beard too mind.

The Doctor is Hella Sexy, But...

I have a thing for David Tennant's Doctor, so it makes sense to me that everyone would be falling all over him, but, yeah, he's more interesting as a character when he's treated as a quirky Time Lord and less as a sex object.

I doubt we'll see much romance on Sarah Jane, but I'm still hoping that Maria's parents got divorced because the dad is gay (not going to happen, I know...) I'm definitely going to keep watching, though. For some reason, it seems like a great show to record and watch on weekday mornings, and it's a nice change from all the dark stuff I watch.

The disc they sent us says that the premiere is on April 11th, but the Sci Fi website says April 18. Either way, it's going to be a while before we catch up.

Thanks for the haircut note. I was going for a Helo look, but I think I came up more with Bobby Hill. ;)

Enough with crushing on the Doctor!

I totally agree Tricia... as an old timer I don't remember companions ever having crushes or romantic feelings for the Doctor and frankly I find it a bit disturbing. Of course I think of the first four Doctors as more grandfatherly figures there to educate and guide their companions (and us).

Additionally I find it unimaginative that the new Doctor's first two companions both fell in love with him; it sends a strange message. Can't wait to see what the new season brings though!

    For love of the Doctor

I have to agree that it is a little odd. Now granted, I did think that there was chemistry between the Fourth Doctor and Romana, who was the only Gallifreyan companion other than the Doctor's grandaughter Susan. However, it's also open to debate how much of that was the whole Tom Baker/Lala Ward thing.

But Tennant is the first really cute Doctor since Davidson. And the Fifth Doctor was dragging a whole troop of companions around with him so there wasn't much room for crushes. Also, the original series made an aggressive effort to keep romance to a bare minimum anyway.

The new series however has a lot more modern and adult sensibility. Case-in-point: sexuality of any kind was virtually undiscussed in the old series. The new series not only brought us Captain Jack, but established the idea that by the 51st Century humans would be willing to shag almost anyone or anything!

Rose and Martha both getting the hots for hottie Doctor really isn't all that weird when you think about it. He's terminally cute and rather less aloof (or weird) than his predecessors. But I agree that if this becomes recurring they may need to aim for a less attractive Doctor in the next regeneration.

Well, the new season brings comedy.

I can't wait to see what you two are going to make of it, the aliens in the opener are odd to say the least, well they aren't really aliens they're much closer to home than that!  No spoilers from me though.

    oh Doctor

I seriously cannot wait for the 4th series of the new doctor who's to come out, I got so excited when i saw the trailer for the new episodes. and when i saw Rose pop up...FORGET about it...can't wait for martha to be back, i really liked her alot and i can even stand Donna so it will be alot of fun to watch.

Also I am not afraid to admit im a big Super Smash Bros fan, ever since its N64 predecessor came out (i was a monster with pickachu believe it or not) that game is like crack. I unlocked all hte characters by beating the adventure mode which is a game all to itself. Yup many days of playing SSB instead of doing hw...infact im going to go play it now.....

    Donna as companion

I think Donna might surprise us, and when I realized that she'd be interacting with Jack in the finale, I had to punch the air. Those two are vaudville waiting to happen.

You did NOT just say that.

10 times better than the Terminator SCC?! Are you high?! By what criteria?!

Moving on. I'm sticking to my theory about how battlestar galactica ends and who's who and what's what that I posted on your vlog comments way back when BSG Razor was released. What are your theories after watching the new BSG episode?

Buffy Season 8 Issue 13: Was Xander hilarious or what!!! It was like Dracula was his boyfriend.

Any opinions on Angel Season 6 the comic book series? The art is terrible but the plot is pretty good. Angel having achieved the Shanshu prophecy that turned him human but he's now stuck in hell is a pretty good plot twist.

    Another Great Vlog!

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed it.

I am super excited about this last *sniff sniff* season of Battlestar. I can't wait until they reaveal who the last Cylon is. All signs point to Starbuck, but I would love it it turns out to be Admiral Adama. Any guesses?

Speaking of Battlestar Gallactica. The M.G.C. is Battlestar Galactica call signs

    Hot Dog

    Boomer

    Stinger

    Athena

    Jammer

    Helo

    Starbuck

    Duck

    Kat

    Skulls

These are all the ones that I heard.

I hated this episode of Torchwood. I found it to be boring, poorly written, and pointless. There was nothing really gained at the end. The next one is pretty good, though (and there's a bit of treat for you Janto fans).

I totally agree with Helo being the #1 DILF. I would have thrown D.L. and Nathan from Heroes in there as well.

    Oh yeah...videogames

I almost fainted when Marc said that Mortal Kombat was old school. Then I thought about it...and it IS old school. Aging is the worst. It is slightly better than dying, I guess. Anyway SSBB is great! Total Nintendo fan sevice. Peach, Samus, and Link are my favorites. Although they totally nerfed Peach.

Yes - D.L. is one of our DILFs!

Check out our complete list at www.theangrypuppy.com because D.L. is on the list, just not in the top five. We thought about Nathan too, but he didn't quite make it... call him our unofficial #11.

Also congratulations because you've pretty much nailed the Mystery Geek Challenge. There is one more name hidden in the vlog, it'll be pretty hard to spot, and the truth is it's not a proper callsign, it's more of a nickname so think of it as the extra credit question!

    Mystery Geek Challenge - REVEALED!

BananaLemon's list is indeed complete, and we were looking for Battlestar Galactica callsigns. As a bonus we threw in one nickname, which was probably hard to spot... when I referred to Flash Gordon as being a "D minus" it was a reference to Lieutenant Anastasia Dualla, the bridge officer known as "Dee".

    Congratulations and nice teamwork!

    Best telly weekend EVER!!

New GSB...New Doctor Who...both were great and both bode well for the coming season. I was really impressed by Catherine Tate's companionship...I thought she was annoying as hell is the Xmas episode, but they really flesh out her character for season 4.

...just a thought on the previous posts: I figured that the reason the doctor (Eccleston) regenerated into such a hottie (Tennant) is because he was already feeling it for Rose and he wanted to look good for her. I thought it was sweet. Of course the next companion to come along was going to have a thing for him too, 'cuz he's adoreable. I consistently have strong emotional reactions (i.e. cry like a little girl) to the new Doctor Who series that didn't really happen with the past incarnations and I think its all due to the deeper stuff going on, including the romance angle. It allows them to draw out all the inherent loneliness to being the Doctor and build these big epic storylines. Russell T. Davies is a fricking genius.

Torchwood sucks ass this season. I have the last ep on my hard drive but I haven't even bothered to watch it. I've been scanning them on fast forward for the last 5 episodes. Plus we were totally cheated by that little Ianto/Jack caught in the act thing. You couldn't even see Ianto's bod! Boring!

    Tricia's picture

Totally agree Russell T is a

Totally agree Russell T is a genius. And I agree about the loneliness angle being done really well. I'm afraid I love Torchwood even  the plots  full of holes, the bad effects  and all the other not so good bits, I still love it.
