In this week's Halloween edition of Angry Puppy, Marc and Lee review upcoming (and spooky) movies from the Swedish vampires of Let the Right One In to the organ repo men in Repo! The Genetic Opera. For a different kind of scary, they also look at the recently released Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull DVD. See all this, a Death Note jack-o'-lantern and a one-time-only cooking segment after the jump.
Proudly presented in Spooky Vision.

Ooh! Ooh! I did it!
No Skill
Yeah, I have no visual skills. We had two pumpkins, but I saved mine so Marc would make something else this weekend. I'll pick the movies and drinks, though!

Werewolves and Blushes
I miss werewolves! Where'd they go? Ooooh, and vodka blushes: Did you know the church of satan has a recipe online? Strange!
Lee, keep stirring the toast!
Satanic Vodka Blushes
That's the recipe I used!
Satanic Vodka Blushes
I think we need to add Mrs. Castevet to our favorite witches list. Marc got a bigger kick out of her antics than I would have expected.

October = Horror Fanatic's Excuse to Watch Horror Movies 24/7
First, just have to give major props on the pumpkin masterpiece!
Also, I wanted to give awareness to Ghosthouse Pictures and the mostly sub-par movies that they bring us. However, there have been two special movies that I found amoungst the crap: "Dark Floors" and "The Substitute". Both are very well made and have good stories to enjoy.
Speaking of those great movies lost in the tide, "Sleepaway Camp" was pretty good in my opinion, and probably one of the first horror movies to feature not only gay parents, but also forced transgendering (don't quote me on it)!!
Sleepaway Camp
Ack! Sleepaway Camp is my favorite 80s camper slasher movie. I have the box set which includes 1,2,3 and the unfinished footage for the never finished part 4. I lovelovelove Judy in the first one.
We went to a birthday party for AfterElton's own Brian Juergens and dressed as Camp Arawak campers. Here's a photo of Marc in his camper shirt (with an uninvited "guest").

The Showgirls of Werewolf movies
Perfect description. I've watched this movie several times and I tend to watch it whenever it's on cable and I have nothing else to do. It's not a good movie but it's fascinating. The first time I saw it I thought--"WTF was that?" And I think the same thing every time I see it.
Also, The Burning--I saw it on cable and was surprised to see Jason Alexander but also one of the Broadway Annies Shelley Bruce. And the sort of "hero" of the movie is really hot in that early 80s way--I don't know who he is.
Thanks for the appropriate movie recommendations

Spielberg hating
While I am a pretty big fan of Steven Spielberg, I do understand how a lot of people have taken issue with him as a director. But what I'm wondering Marc, is do when you're talking about not liking Spielberg movies are you just refering to his sci-fi types of movies or are you including all his movies (including Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan and Munich)?
Just wondering. And thanks you guys for another great video. Can't wait for the next one!
That Spielberg fellow
Yes exactly, my problems with his film making are in the relatively recent sci fi works. I realize he had different roles to play in these films but I've come to associate his screen credit with unfortunate results. More specifically I thought Transformers was fun but kind of uninspired, I couldn't get into Taken or Men In Black, and I flat out hated Jurassic III, A.I., Zorro, and Minority Report.
Obviously this is just a personal taste issue; his style of film just doesn't appeal to me but clearly it appeals to many others! I'm generally more a fan of the quirky and clever stuff, and less so with the broad material.
You guys rock
Thanks!
Hey, alanonmores. We're not doing any more vlog episodes, but we still have a lot of stuff up at our site, including a recent mini-sode on the best (and worst) movies of 2008.

AngryPuppy?
I'm very, very sorry to know that you won't be doing any more vlog episodes; I enjoyed them tremendously.
I don't want to step out of line here, but I was wondering what happened, if everything's okay. I think a lot of us here on AfterElton miss you guys.
Cheers------

Still here, still geeky!
Thanks for the question and the concern OC, we're doing pretty good. We've discovered that it's pretty hard to produce a weekly vlog while holding down day jobs and raising a puppy named after a cartoon character. (Apparently puppies named after things other than cartoon characters are easier to manage).
And while we're still doing a lot of the same things such as watching TV, movies, and playing video games, we're finding it's difficult to produce the vlog about it each week. We were hoping to break for the holidays and come back in January but it's turning out to be difficult to pull this off and keep our sanity. But we are still around, and as Lee said you can catch periodic updates on TheAngryPuppy.com, and you may even see occasionaly work from us here on AfterElton.
Many thanks, Marc, for your
Many thanks, Marc, for your reply. (I have to confess that after viewing the last video, featuring "Digital Marc," I was thinking "Holy crap, something must have happened to Marc!")
I do hope you guys will be able to make the occasional video, and post it on AfterElton---but don't knock yourself out in an attempt to do so. Glad to know that you are both well! Cheers---

Digital Marc / Angry Puppy Videos
Hey, octobercountry!
Marc just travels a lot for work, so I needed a stand-in for that video! No one wants to see me talking to myself. :D
I get the itch to throw together little videos from time to time, though there's no real schedule. They will most likely only appear in my Vimeo feed instead of here, but you can subscribe to the RSS feed on our site to get notified if I put something (geeky) up.
