Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is totally definitive of why George Lucas shouldn't be allowed write anything but his name on cheques anymore. He turned down Frank Darabont's less-demented script and came up with that plot himself. And the science just irritated me. (WOOD DOES NOT DULL MAGNATISM) The only good thing about the film was that it finally brought an end to my friend and my John McClane Vs. Indiana Jones: Bad-Ass Off that's been argued over for years. I finally won.

We learned that mystic alien artifacts make very effective ant repellent! Oh and monkeys don't like Soviets.

First, just have to give major props on the pumpkin masterpiece!

Also, I wanted to give awareness to Ghosthouse Pictures and the mostly sub-par movies that they bring us.  However, there have been two special movies that I found amoungst the crap:  "Dark Floors" and "The Substitute".  Both are very well made and have good stories to enjoy.  

Speaking of those great movies lost in the tide, "Sleepaway Camp" was pretty good in my opinion, and  probably one of the first horror movies to feature not only gay parents, but also forced transgendering (don't quote me on it)!!

 

Perfect description. I've watched this movie several times and I tend to watch it whenever it's on cable and I have nothing else to do. It's not a good movie but it's fascinating. The first time I saw it I thought--"WTF was that?" And I think the same thing every time I see it.

Also, The Burning--I saw it on cable and was surprised to see Jason Alexander but also one of the Broadway Annies Shelley Bruce. And the sort of "hero" of the movie is really hot in that early 80s way--I don't know who he is.

Bugcrush, I think I saw this as  part of the Boys Life 6 DVD...it reaaallly creeped me out, can't stand bugs, i always have a fear of them boring into my skin and causing mass tissue destruction...but thats just me...and I dont care how cute he is, forget that, i ain't touchin' no bugs...

I saw crystal skull in theaters with my dad, only because he was a fan of the others indy movies....shia lebeof or whatever, could not stand him at all..

what are you guys going as for halloween?, or is that for next weeks blog...

I'm also sad that werewolves have been out of the consciousness for so long.  Maybe they're up next?  Although we seem to be swinging from zombies back to vampires, without anything else in between.

I love that you two actually saw Låt Den Rätte Komma In (Let the right one in, that is)! I didn't even know it was released in NYC. I saw it here in i Sweden a couple of days ago, I was a bit disappointed because the film only scratches the surface of the themes in the book it's based on. The book is definitely more raw, if it's been translated in to English you guys should check it out. The character of Håkan and also his relationship with Eli is much more developed in the book, and yes, I guess raw is a good word for their relationship.

While I am a pretty big fan of Steven Spielberg, I do understand how a lot of people have taken issue with him as a director. But what I'm wondering Marc, is do when you're talking about not liking Spielberg movies are you just refering to his sci-fi types of movies or are you including all his movies (including Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan and Munich)?

Just wondering. And thanks you guys for another great video. Can't wait for the next one!
