Anthony Callea's first interview as an out gay celeb

Recently-outed Australian Idol contestant Anthony Callea has given his first interview as an out celeb, and it seems that things are going quite well for him all around. In regards to his recent outing, he notes:

"To tell you the truth, at the start of the year I was in Brisbane and I was speaking to my manager about it and I said ‘I think I’m comfortable within myself now to make that next step’ and we were talking about it for quite a few weeks. And then this whole thing with Vic Lorusso came out and I thought it was just something telling me that this was the right time."

Pretty balanced thinking for such a young guy at this stage in his career, eh? Callea also responded to the cries of "congratulations" by the radio show's hosts with a humble, "Congratulations for what? I don’t need to be congratulated for it, it’s just the way it is." He also confirmed that he is happily in a relationship of three years.
