If Torchwood is commissioned for a third series, what is the single most important thing you'd like to happen to Ianto during that series?

Additionally, beyond Torchwood, what are your biggest aspirations in your career?

i guess i'll get it out of the way then - - on a scale from 1-10...how are john's kissing skills? 10 being the best of course and all that. :-)

here's my question for Gareth...Are we ever going to see Ianto's flat? Also, do you reckon he will have a tidy flat or an absolute hovel?

Late middle-age wants to know!

- I read that John Barrowman likes to play pranks on everyone on set. What's the dirtiest prank he ever played on you, and have you ever played one on him?

- What do you enjoy most about filming Torchwood (not the finished episode, but the actual filming), and what do you hate the most?

- Have you, or any of the other cast, been injured on the set of Torchwood before?

 

 

 

One of the things I like best about Gareth is his beautiful voice (those "wonderful Welsh vowels").  The Bible reading scene in End of Days would put most ministers to shame.

Any chance of a musical interlude, like a team Karaoke night?

Also, curious to hear some Welsh.  Will Ianto and Gwen maybe ever exchange any dialogue in Welsh, either with each other or other people?

Did you feel anything when you kissed Barrowman in the Second Season Third Episode?

Are Ianto and Jack going to have a real relationship or is everybody going to write to the producers of the show asking them to eliminate Gwen?

Does anyone on the set get jealous of you and Barrowman?

 

Here is my question for Gareth:

- How do you see Ianto's relationship with Jack continuing?  Will it become more intimate, physically and emotionally, and if so, how will that affect Ianto's character?

Ianto started as a character in the background that we knew very little of, who was practically not seen or heard.

Did you know when you started that his part would become bigger? Or did the increase in importance come later? By fan demand? You're own request? The idea of the writers?

 

I want to know what he thinks about fanfiction, especially slash (guy/guy), and *especially* Jack/Ianto. 

I would like to know how Ianto was able to get Lisa from London to Cardiff without anyone finding out. And what Ianto's personal beliefs are.

Given that, from what I've heard, Ianto was originally planned as a rather more minor character than he is now, has it been hard for you as an actor to adjust to the fame, and the massive fanbase that you now have?

 

What sort of changes in your life has it resulted in?

Did you ever have any doubts about pursuing acting as a career?

Is Ianto fluent in any language other than English? (Maybe he's fluent in Welsh, but never mind that.)

Also, what are the chances of a musical number in Torchwood?

I love the way Ianto Dresses.  Do you have any imput as to how your character is dressed?  Favorite colors?  A particular Designer you follow?

I love Ianto and Jack, but I also love seeing you work wih Burn, I hope we will see more Ianto and Owen working together. Will we ever see something romantic/sexual between Ianto and Owen? Maybe an AU episode?

 

Gareth, I think it's great that Ianto is getting more screen time now. Do the cast get much input into storylines or the direction their characters will take?

Gareth, what are you working on during the Torchwood break?

Gareth, those of us lucky enough to have seen the footage of your band at The Point know that you're a terrific blues singer. Do you have any plans to record an album? My iPod wants your version of "Mannish Boy"!

Jack and Ianto have their first kiss in "Cyberwoman", when Ianto has been thrown into the water by Lisa. But is it just a kiss, or is it artificial respiration, or is Jack transferring some of that glowy life energy into Ianto? Your many admirers crave to know. :-)

Is he bi/ gay or just gay for Jack? It took four episodes after the first "kiss" before the relationship with Jack started. And surprisingly, Ianto was the aggressor.  Was this discussed between Cyberwoman and They Keep Killing Suzie" or was it already planned?

I like the new more quippy, less morose, more ninja Ianto. What does Gareth think of the latest characterization?

The two principle “relationships” Jack has in the show, the one with Ianto and the one with Gwen, are terribly ambiguous. Maybe we, as an audience, are not properly noticing the subtleties that define either relationship more clearly, but it definitely seems to have the fan community in a tizzy, especially after the happenings of “Meat”. That said, what do you think are the underlying dynamics of these relationships? Any similarities? Key differences? To further that, what are Ianto’s feelings for Jack? And, do you think he feels threatened in any way by Gwen?

I see you are attending The Rift Torchwood event in London in April, and have been a guest at a few other conventions/signings in the last year or so - is meeting fans/doing live Q&As a nerve-racking experience?  Or something that with your theatre background you take in your stride?

Hey, gareth!  I know that actors establish a backtory for their characters.  What is the backstory that you created for Ianto?  

What do you think about a Torchwood Musical, like well we had one on Buffy and Two pints...I personally think Torchwood the Musical would be great, what about you?

Hi Gareth, I read that you value John Barrowman's advice on your career and that the rest of the team are helping you too, (sudden fame is a heady brew... I'm told) but I would like to know if Torchwood's success has brought many offers for roles you'd really like to do, or has it mostly been an avalanche of Ianto-types *grin* Cheeky supplemental question: Do you set out to steal scenes in Torchwood or is it just a gift?

Your delivery of Ianto's season 2 dry humour is bar none.

Is there any comedian or actor that you draw your inspiration from to get that snarky attitude we all love so much?

You once said you were a big fan of Robert Englund (AKA Freddy Krueger). Would you see yourself ever be in a role, be it movie or film, of a horror character like FK? Or would you prefer to always be the 'good guy'?

Do you like performing or would you like to try your hand at more production, writing, or even directing?

I have a HUGE crush on Ianto!

I would want to ask Gareth lots of things...Like if perhaps he could just come here and read to me, straight from the phonebook would be fine, his voice is incredible!  Gotta love those beautiful Welsh vowels *sigh*...

But really, I would like to know how he feels about being sort of a gay icon and part of the most popular fandom/couple out there.  I am a fangirl, trust me, I know how much we adore Jack/Ianto!  But as far as I know, not that it is any of my business really, Gareth is straight, and it must be interesting for a straight man to have this place out there in gay culture.  I think it is great.  My other  burning question would be if he thinks, in regards to Torchwood anyway, if the whole Jack and Gwen thing is just Jack being concerned for her and the team....I don't see the spark there, as actors anyway, that John and Gareth have, and I think that plays alot into it, for me anyway.  There is really some genuine chemistry there between the two guys. 

But you know, even if you don't get to my question, I am really looking forward to this interview.

Seeing as Torchwood is a spin off of Doctor Who I was wondering if Gareth was a fan of Doctor Who before joining Torchwood. Favourite Doctor ? Any aliens (other than Cybermen) from Doctor Who that he would like the Torchwood team to face ?

 

 

- I'm a straight femail fan from the US... is there any way people not in the Cardiff area can listen to your music.  It's such a rich bluesy sound.  I've only heard the bits on youtube and it is so amazing sounding.

- I'm going to be in Cardiff in August  (hope to see some filming of Series 3), do you have any plans for a gig then?

- What kind of puppies do you have? Read about them in the SFX interview.  Just curious.  I have a six month old Aussie Cattle Dog.
