I CAN HAS AVATAR OF THE WEEK?

Allow me to share something personal with you. While I love working for a site that focuses on gay visibility in the media and entertainment, this focus generally prohibits me from expounding on one of my favorite things: funny/cute/terrifying pictures of cats.

So I'm thrilled to be able to use today's Avatar of the Week as an excuse to do just that. As you may know, each week we reach into the pet store window and select the most meticulously bred and well-behaved potential companion from the litter and parade it about as Best in Show. (Not a word about my outfit making me look like a cocktail waitress on an oil rig, thank you very much.)

And this week's lucky kitty is...

ThoughLoversBeLost!

ThoughLoversBeLost is a Canadian shorthair currently living in Toronto. A writer by trade, he has a blog that focuses on political issues and uses great words like "sillybuggers". He likes tuna, plush carpeting and the little plastic strips that you pull off of milk jugs and throw into the trash.

When we asked ThoughLoversBeLost how he felt about being named Avatar of the Week, he replied, "IM IN UR BLOGZ, SNUGGLING UR GAYZ." We take that as an "I'm honored".
