Balls to the Wall: Some pics from last night's parties

Last night was probably the most exciting evening in Washington, D.C. since 1879, when Rutherford B. Hayes installed the White House's first telephone and used it to prank call Larry King.

There were almost a dozen "official" balls and countless other parties honoring the celebration, and some were like flames to the moths we call "celebrities". Sure, some of the balls were stodgier than others (the Biden Home States Ball and the Southern Inaugural Ball looked to be about as fun as a root canal), but in keeping with the spirit of change and revitalization there were lots of young folks - many of them gay or notably gay-friendly - celebrating the historic event.
