TV Guide's super scooper Michael Ausiello is reporting that Brothers & Sisters executive producer Greg Berlanti had this to say following the news that Eric Winter's show Viva Laughlin had been canceled:
"Obviously, we wanted Eric's show to succeed, but we would be psyched to have him back," says Berlanti. "While I can't say what will happen to [Kevin and Jason] romantically, we would love to have Eric back as soon as possible. He's a great actor, and he and Matthew are wonderful together. And there's also the fact that he's McCallister's brother, which we always wanted to explore further."
And don't forget smokin' hot. Never a bad thing.

Speak For Yourself
I was hoping Viva Laughlin would succeed just so Eric Winter stayed OFF B&S. He's a decent enough actor and, of course, nice to look at, but Scotty's who Kevin should be with. They keep parading hottie after hottie through Kevin's life while Scotty languishes out there.
I hope the producers keep Reverend Shirtless off the show for a while and let things develop between Scotty and Kevin.
Scotty is too good...
I agree with both of you

Is it possible to agree with you both? I do, in a way. I am not thrilled with the Methodist minister (wrong church to put a gay preacher in...they're supposed to be chaste) storyline.
I honestly don't see (or there hasn't been enough screetime to see) any real chemistry between Matthew and Eric. Not the way I see it between Matthew and Luke. I think that just happens with certain actors. Matthew and Luke have it and it's organic and it is still evident this season.
Eric's first episode was more of Kevin shooting his fool mouth off, so I couldn't see anything there. Dialog replaced the relationship development and we run right into "I love you and I'll wait for you" after essentially two episodes. Very hard to see any chemistry develop when you hardly see the actors together.
I very much want Scotty to remain on the show and in Kevin's life. I think, eventually, Scotty will be "the one" for Kevin. Right now, they are both growing and I'd like to see more of them growing as individuals and with each other. If that growth can continue on screen with Jason present, I'll live with it...just as long as Scotty stays on the show.
Note to the producers: Stop using Scotty as a catalyst...three times is more than enough. It cheapens the character.
Best News!
Two gays
fighting over the same man, can we say cat fight. "Back off Bitch," may be the next big catch phrase.
Great!
Full disclosure -- I love
Full disclosure -- I love Jason. Love him to bits. And I don't like Scotty, but I do acknowledge that he seems to have gotten better after that whole self-righteous spectacular during Chad-time. Anyway, even if it seems that they're paving the road to mature!relationship Kevin&Scotty, I still think that they're probably great people apart, but together, they're toxic. I want Kevin to end up with Jason but if they're going with Scotty, I can't do anything about that...except be disappointed.
Yay, even Berlanti wants
Yeah really. I don't know
Yeah really. I don't know where all this 'Scotty is the one' rubbish comes from. Jason is the one Kevin said 'I love you' to. He's the one he loves enough to say he'll wait a year for him.
The Matthew/Luke chemistry has always been like a puppy following it's master rather than two people who spark off each other, and who are equals (like Kevin and Jason).
Plus, Scotty is kind of cliched. I like my gay t.v characters to display slightly more depth and if they're going to be cliched, they should be as funny as Jack from Will and Grace. Scotty is neither.
Jason is different, interesting and not a cliche. Plus he seemed like a more real person in the first 5 minutes he was on screen than Scotty has during his entire run.
Are you really saying
Are you really saying there's only room on TV for two kinds of gay men: straight-acting masculine sorts or caricatures like Jack McFarlane?
I think the best thing about Scotty is that he seems genuine. He's comfortable in his own skin, a little bit nerdy, very charming and wholly gay. He's not trying to "be" anything other than Scotty.
TV could use a little more diversity in their representations of gay men. Scotty's a good step in that direction.
As for Jason seeming "real"... huh? He's a fantasy character... how many hot, eligible gay ministers do you know in real life? Come on. I think there are far more "Scottys" in the world than "Jasons."
What i'm trying to say is
I totally love Eric Winter!
I totally love Eric Winter! I think he's an amazing actor and is wonderful as Jason. I'm really excited to see him come back to Brothers & Sisters! Firstly, we haven't seen Kevin and Jason much as a couple (just 1 ep). I'd like to see if they explore the funny side of their relationship. I thought their first blind date together was hilarious!
I'm tired of Scotty to be honest and I dont want Kevin to end up with him seeing Jason seems perfect for him. I think Jason would eventually make Kevin a better uncomplicated man. Scotty can hang on...as long as he keeps his hands off Kevin. :D
