Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 10: I go through more boyfriends that way...

Inspired by Eddie, Jason and Amy's twisted little game of "vampire house", Andy and I decided this week to tie Andy to a lawnchair to discuss Episode 10 of True Blood.

Um ... it didn't go so well.

In lighter news, we were delighted to learn that this week the folks at HBO have made Blood Work the featured item on the show's official fan page. We're thrilled to be spreading our foul gospel to more fans of the show, and even more thrilled at the special presents they were kind enough to send us ... which we'll be featuring next week. If you run into any new folks in the darkened hallways of the comments section, do give them a friendly AfterElton welcome!

Check it out after the break!

Biggest Bummer

Loved the episode (8 out of 10) and the Vlog!

Biggest bummer for me-- definitely the staking of Eddie. Hoping someone offs Amy very soon and very violently!

Also much prefer Sam to Bill, who is a bit dull I think.

(Nice staking effects in the Vlog too, btw!)

All images on the site are PG-13 at most and so should be safe for work.

Prediction on the serial killer!

Nicaraguanboi! After watching this episode I think that the killer might be that Terry or Hoit, any of those two guys!  I'm more inclined to be Terry!

serial killer

I can't believe the killer is Renee!!!! I thought he was the nicest guy out of the bunch, well maybe except for Hoit. After seeing his face on the fax sent to the police dept. I knew it. It's funny I thought Sam was the Dog until I saw the dog and Sam together in a scene, I guess I don't know much about shape shifters either.

Aw, shucks!

Does this mean that now we'll never get to see Andy and Joey the Vampire in the same place at the same time? ;Þ

The Serial Killer

The Serial Killer would have to be someone whom Granma Adele would feel safe inviting into the house. There were no signs of forced entry.

All the rumors and hints say that the killer "comes out of left-field". I think it has to be Hoyt. Which is kind of disappointing because we really have absolutely no backstory on him. What's the motive for Rene? Terry, would also make sense since he's insane - but that also makes him too obvious.

Hilarious Vlog. How come there wasn't any cat fur in the death caul? I thought Andy was a were-cat. Well, I suppose you could use the excuse of a cat having 9 lives in order to bring Andy back on the Vlog.

And, Andy is correct, Bill is good-lookin'

Not necessarily...

Didn't Bill (when the most ineffective sheriff below the Mason-Dixon was interrogating him) notice that Gran's window screen had been cut after the murder? It was a quick moment, granted.

At this point Andy is a vampire, a were-cat, and an offscreen D&D expert. He's a regular jack-of-all-trades!

And thanks!

Well, I don't know anything

Well, I don't know anything about plumbing or cars, but I do know how many hit dice a minotaur has!  LOL

Thanks for outing me as a RPG fanatic, Brian! :P

As for the cut window screen, I remember that, too.  I suspect the killer did sneak in that way, so I think it's probably a person rather than a supernatural being.  That kind of threw me off in general...  :(

And thanks to METABARON for your support in the "I love Bill" fan club!  :))

Bill vs. Sam

I choose Bill. He's so smokey, sexy, intense, brooding, doomed. With a core of angst and a heart of gold. Heart of gold for a vampire, anyway. Plus the chemistry is much hotter between him and Sookie. Sam on the other hand can shapeshift into a cute puppy. Okay. What else you got?

Was Michelle Forbes? I think she shows up as Tara's Parole officer in the next two episodes.

Bummer Factor...

First of all -GREAT Vlog -I look forward to watching your take on the week's episode. Now, as to the "bummer factor", I know what you mean -I'd also like for Bill and Sookie to "live happily ever after" and for Jason and Eddie to "adopt" Eddie and drive off  off in a Winnabago ( with foil on the windows) BUT-the plot moves on and this is one of the strengths of Trueblood -it keeps going in new directions. This was a transition episode I think and is setting up the final two of the season. just TWO more and then ....no more Trueblood until next year....

Here are great screen caps of the episode -enjoy Sam's parts and fang dentistry etc...

Great caps!

OMG

Thanks for the great screen caps!! :))

I agree... can't Bill and Sookie just go off and live happily ever after?  Why does it have to be so complicated.  :(

Sookie's reaction

I thought Sookie's "Shut the F___ Up." was one of the truest and funniest moments I have seen in a long time.

I also love that when they do a cliffhanger sort of shocking ending, they just start right out with it in the next episode instead of making you wait.  They know they have more good writing to come and don't have to linger on one thing for suspense.

I have decided that the woman in the road was Lucy Lawless doing a Xena/True Blood crossover.

And do you think they had to pay some sort of extra money to get Rutina Wesley (Tara) to wear that dress and ponytail?

Love the vlog and word on the street has it that you and the vlog have been featured on the HBO site...we knew you when.

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him...

Great episode, but I have to say Brian has quite the jealous streak in him.

As for the episode, I have to think that there's something going on in the director's seat, what with all the 'bummer' moments.  Not only is he setting up for the big shocker-ific finale, but he's also trying to create a very dark mood.  Something along the lines of, 'no one's safe, everyone's a suspect, and no one gets to be happy'. I just hope whatever happens, Sookie can get off her high clairvoyant horse for a quick sec.

Sookie Sookie Sookie

Right now the only good thing about Sookie is to hear Bill speaks her name. I love his Old Southern accent and can't believe he is from England, I'm totally into his character.

You are so right about her attitude, she plays games with Sam and then to turn against Bill that quickly makes me think she doesn't deserve him.

This show went by so fast just like "The Tutors" so now I'll have to wait for another season to start. At least there's time to read the books.

Renee

Clearly they want us to think it was Renee who attacked Sookie, because it sure looked like him.

By the way. All Vampires are evil in my book. Bill included.

The Naked Lady

She was with a huge pig, so I'm pretty sure she's a Maenad (sp?) a Greek mythological character often prortrayed naked or close to, with pigs, who followed Dionysus and was usually in a crazed wine induced stance.
sindrirune's picture

Maenad? You may be right

Waitress Sookie Stackhouse is attacked by a homicidal Maenad named Callisto in "Living Dead in Dallas,"  Southern Vampire Mystery Series.

 Do you read the books?

Yessssssss Rene

Sam and Rene were the only main character cast wear black. It wasn't Sam, its Rene. My only question is Rene killing the girls? What happened to Rene baby sister?

Oops forgive me, wonderful blog posting. Always every week this blog keeps me going while I wait for Sunday night to roll around. Its really scary there are only 2 episodes left. Oh my g-d what am I going to watch.

sindrirune's picture

Did Rene kill his sister?

It is just as Bill said connected to vampires.

When Sookie and Sam spoke to the guy at the diner eating the pie he said that the waitress that was murdered was a fang banger, & that her Brother was gone. Then the fax sent to the PD was Rene so it looks like his the murderer. I just can't believe how fast some of the characters are being killed. If I was an actor I'd hate to get a TV role only to die in the first season. Though after what Amy did to Eddie, she deserved it!
