Blood Work "True Blood" video blog 11: Sometimes, dead is better.

Pardon my reference to the 90's nonclassic horror movie Pet Sematary, but in this week's Blood Work (much like the True Blood episode that inspired it) we learn that sometimes it's best to leave dead enough alone.

Yes, much like babyvamp Jessica, Andy has returned from the grave ... with a few noticeable differences. Join us as we discuss the penultimate episode of the ever-wacky vampire series, complete with mysterious social workers, a fresh corpse, and a big reveal months in the making.

Check it out after the break!

Sometimes Dead is Better... Indeed.

Brian, your place comes with soil from a supernatural graveyard? You've got to tell us who your Realtor is.

I also liked your Cat reference to Pet Semetary.

Yeah, fine, it's Rene. Which I still say is problematic because he danced with Sookie at Arlene's party. Rene knows Sookie could have read his mind at any time. Why would he have risked dancing with her? Being that close to her dramatically increases the probability of Sookie picking something up from his mind. AND HE KNOWS THIS. Wouldn't being found out in the middle of the dance floor with all these people around them kind of put Rene out of commission? I know Rene is the killer but this plot-hole is disappointingly LARGE.

The other problem is Rene not wearing any gloves while murdering Amy. Second, how the hell did he know that they would be unconscious from the effects of V-juice? Isn't that kind of central to his plan for killing Amy?! I mean, what would he have said if he woke them up from sleep with his belt in his hands?

I think Rene has to have some supernatural aspect to him. I suspect he is a telepath like Sookie. That's the ONLY WAY he could reliably hide his thoughts from Sookie. That or go LA LA LA LA LA LA LA like Tara did.

The other problem, is the assistant of the Coroner who was also murdered (off screen). Rene wouldn't even bother killing him because otherwise he'd have to kill everyone that goes to Fangtasia.

Okay, wait, I actually think it's that detective guy that was also in "The Lost Room". He was present at Arlene's party, he frequent's Merlotte's, he investigates everyone which means that he would know about the Coroner's assistant.  Detective Andy Bellefleur is the only one with access and knowledge of all the victims.

Sheriff Dearborne was not at Arlene's party, was he? Because if he was then I'd point the finger at him. There have been four related murders within his jurisdiction and he hasn't found the killer and he doesn't seem too eager to find the murderer. The hands that killed Amy looked old enough to have been his. Andy blabs about everything he suspects to Sheriff Dearborne which would give him all the information he needs.

As far as I remember, Sookie read Rene's mind only once and that was at the beginning of the series. Rene has to have the ability to control when Sookie reads his mind - if he turns out to be the killer.

The Assistant Coroner

The little goth kid that worked for the coroner and was at Fangtasia on Sookie's first visit wasn't murdered by the serial killer.

Malcolm, Diane and Liam took him as a pet (a la Jerry) and he died in the same fire that killed the three of them. Technically, the rednecks that hassled Lafayette killed him. They started the fire.

Hey, Meta (Warning: Could be considered a spoiler)-

If you read the book the show is based on (and it is only generally based; a lot of stuff in the show is not in the book) Sookie gives an explaination of her telepath powers that could explain this gap.

Without giving away too much, essentially she says that reading people isn't an exact science. Some people are "broadcasters" and she can read just about every detail that they are thinking. Others she can only read general moods and impressions. And then there are psychotics whose minds are partitioned off so that she can only read which ever portion of their mind that they are occupying at that specific moment.

Thanks

Thanks for the Information. That would explain a lot. This would conclusively make Rene the killer.

I'm only watching the TV Series, but, could you tell me whether Michelle Forbes new character is in the books? If so, can you tell us some hints as to what she is?

Michelle Forbes Character Hint

She is actuallly from the second book.

As to who she is (or rather what she is), look to Greek mythology.

Seriously?

That's how they're doing that character?  I know when I read the books I read all 8 in a week, but that's not the character development I recall for who you're talking about. (Yes, I know I've talked in circle, but I've been trying not to give away any more than you referenced, even though the books and the series are diverging pretty drastically at this point)

Rene....

Great Vlog again.

I still am not convinced that it is Rene though. Am guessing that perhaps he vanished after his sister was killed (since he was a suspect) and has been tracking whatever it was that killed her. It sure looked like Rene strangling Amy (yay!) but I'm holding out for one more twist.

Great to see Michelle Forbes-- does anyone else remember her from the Sunny/Solita days on Guiding Light?

I remember Sonni / Solita -

I remember Sonni / Solita - Solita was the "bad" twin, right?  That was some whacked up craziness there.  I kept thinking, who the hell cares which twin really died?  It's not like they actually had any history on the show.  And we all knew that Josh was eventually going to end up with Reva anyway...  And remember that back then coming "back from the grave" was a Really Big Deal (a la Roger, Alan (and James from ATWT?)).

I love these Vlogs.

They don't even show this over here yet but I ended up watching them anyway. I'll be sure to try and forget everything when it does. But it's worth getting spoiled, these Vlogs are so great!

Bill Sucks at Fatherhood

Seriously, he had kids when he was alive right? If he had lived to raise them, he probably would have been terrible. I think Jessica was just acting like a kid, and he couldn't handle her. He dumped her on Eric when really she is Bill's responsibility. Eric certainly isn't going to mold to her into a good person.

As to changing, I don't think she changed personality wise. We know that she comes from a strict family that doesn't let her do anything except church and school. She isn't alloud out at night. This is a teenager who would love to rebell when given the chance. When we first meet Jessica, she's frightened out of her wits, so of course she's playing innocent. I'll never do anything bad again, just let me go.

After being turned, she's realises that she isn't going to die and that she's free. She came from a family where religion was probably forced down her throat, so she probably doesn't care that she's damned in the opinion of a lot members of her faith. She doesn't religion because it was just another chain her family had around her. Now she doesn't have to listen to her family, her church, or care what anyone thinks.

So you have a teenager experiencing freedom from the first time in her life.

Hey... I enjoy watching these vlogs

more than the actual shows. So I never get around to seeing them after I DVR them.

But why does your kitchen look like my great aunt's? If you take down pics on the fridge and switch out the bananas for pears they're basically identical.

And did you say Clay's kid is named "Parker"? Did one of those Constitutional Amendments those people passed against us make it mandatory for all gay celebrities to name their first borns that?

Amy and Such

Oh I so agree !!! I am glad Amy has left this life for a better place. I just couldn't wait. Thats one murder that Renee should get a medal for. LOL.

I just can't wait til they show more of Eric and Pam. Pam is so funny. Especially funny was when Pam was looking down Jessica's dress top and then looking up her dress bottom.

It was so funny when Lafayette is talking to Terry Bellefleur. Terry says, "I can no longer watch politicians because they make me have seizures" ... Oh my gosh, I think I need a shirt with that printed on it.

I have noticed that a lot of vampires tend to pick out good innocent people to turn into vampires.

Only one show left in this season. Hmmm, then the wait begins. I think they should be filming new shows right now. I hate the wait... I guess I'm impatient.

Episode 11

OMG!  I can't wait til next week!  What will Bill owe Eric?  Will the killer strike when Jason is locked up? Will Sookie regret uninviting Bill in her house? Who is the lady that bailed Tara out of jail? We know she was naked standing by the big pig in the last episode. So what is she? DVR ppl, pause and go frame by frame, very interesting!  Will Eric tame Jessica?   I do own a Melottes Waitress T-shirt and a Fangtasia T-shirt!  I'm hooked!

Blessed Be.

My only dissapointment

Amy was so wonderfully played and so hated by all that I wanted her to have a spectacular exit.  I wanted to see her explode like John Cassavetes in The Fury or at least be turned into mulch to reduce her carbon footprint. Although floating away did crack me up I thought catching her hand in the disposale while disposing of Eddie would have been pretty funny, too. Who you callin' sick?

I'm anticipating next week's vlog as much as the show and will be just as impatient for it's return.  I think a family reunion of all the past stars would be nice and Andy could do a Mystery of Irma Vep kind of thing; apropos, no?

Naked ladies with pigs

and Greek mythology?  Must be Circe.

That would be cool.  Having a witch who turns men into pigs would be a fun addition to the show.   Though lord knows you don't have to be a witch to make that happen -- plenty of men I've kissed have turned into pigs afterward.
