Brando Eaton cast as ridiculously adorable gay BFF on "Secret Life of the American Teenager"

Last year we had cause to tune into ABC Family's utterly wackadoodle family dramedy The Secret Life of the American Teenager when lead teen Amy (Shailene Woodley) considered giving her unborn baby to her dad's gay co-worker Donovan (Alex Boling) and his hubby Leon (Larry Sullivan).

It looks like next season we'll have even more reason to watch, as the show has just cast the magically delicious Brando Eaton (Do Not Disturb, Nip/Tuck, Queerantine!) to play Griffin, the new gay sidekick to Amy's gorgeous and rather badass little sister, Ashley (India Eisley).

Okay, I'll admit that I have a hard time watching this show because the main family's last name happens to be Juergens (same spelling and everything), and I'm really not used to hearing my name spoken by the likes of Molly Ringwald, John Schneider and Bobby Bacala from The Sopranos (who plays another parent).

But having seen the awesomely homoerotic (not to mention hilarious) shower scene between Eaton and the crushtastic Seann William Scott in Balls Out: Gary the Tennis Coach ... let me just say that I'll get over any hesitation:

The horror buff didn't mention the horror?

When I saw this on EW earlier today, and tore myself away from Google Image search(seriously, it took a while), I ran over to IMDB to look over his resume.  He's got some serious credits to his name: Bones, CSI, the new series Mental (which had that sexy Chris Vance naked in the first two minutes), and the upcoming disaster that is Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.  But it's also showing a horror short called "Queerantine" described as thus:

When reports break about students acting out of character, a TV reporter and police investigate. Students start behave with gay tendencies after same-sex marriage is taught in a social studies class. Things get out of control leaving the reporter and policemen to defend themselves against all of the queer students. Police decide to quarantine the school off so the gay can't spread, leaving the reporter trapped!

Weird premise, but they do classify it as horror.  Sounds like comedy to me.

I did, briefly

I listed a few of his credits after his name - but I haven't seen Queerantine!, so I couldn't say much more. Sounds like a comedy to me as well.

Oddly, I was just looking up Eaton yesterday for a completely different reason, and today the casting news. Sweet!

Queerantine

Go here to watch the 5-minute parody of "Quarantine", titled "Queerantine":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO9C9EG_btA

Brandon plays "Shower Guy" running through the halls in nothing but a towel.  The end credits give thanks to all the Prop 8 supporters who helped to make the film happen.  It's cute.

Stunning.

He looks like he 's straight out of a Randy Blue photoshoot.

So is he a homo, or just one of those straight guys who keeps playing gay roles?

The California Supreme Court...

The California Supreme Court will soon hand down its decision on whether or not Proposition 8 violates the state Constitution. As it has deliberated, Iowa, Maine, and Vermont have made same-sex marriage legal, while the rush to ban the practice by popular vote slowed in 2008. Our latest Transparency is a timeline of the changes to same-sex marriage laws showing where laws were changed via legislatures, courts, or voters.Google public data is a new Google service where you can search for public data, such as, transparency issues on same sex marriage, unemployment rates and so forth.  Google public data might come in handy if you're looking to move somewhere new. In the past, you might have had to get cash advance loans to find that info.  The E-Government Act of 2002 has made it clear that government organizations have to make their data available to the public, which is a great move towards greater transparency.   You could potentially even find out how many people in your neighborhood are getting mortgage loan modification with Google Public Data.

Gay Sidekick?

Anyone else wonder if they might end up having Ashley become a lesbian? I'm wondering if his character might be brought into her storyline to help her become comfortable with her sexual identity.

Or he could just be the ridiculously attractive gay friend...I'm thrilled with either scenario really.
