Breaking: T.R. Knight still totally probably quitting "Grey's Anatomy" or already has, whichever comes first
Ohhhhhh I get it: We actually have to report that T.R. Knight is officially off of Grey's Anatomy three times before it actually happens, right? Like Beetlejuice? As has been rumored and pretty much made common knowledge for the past 6 months or so, multiple sources are once again reporting that out actor Knight will not be returning to Grey's as Dr. George O'Malley, one of the ensemble's founding members. (The finale left George in a bad way, but with the chance of returning.) And really, we tend to think that it's all for the best for Knight, who can now move on to bigger and better projects. In related news, He Who Blogs Behind the Rows called out Knight and other gay celebs for not punching in at Tuesday's anti-Prop 8 rallies, and I'm sure some Photoshopped dickslappery is in store for the actor as a result. Oh, and also: If PH is the new mouthpiece for gay rights, let's just go ahead and toast with that Kool-Aid we've been keeping in the back of the fridge, because we're f*******cked. Anyway, amidst all this hubbub Knight and his boyfriend Mark Cornelsen still managed to find time to eat last night in Hollywood, and good for them. Enjoy:

It was pretty given with the
we can't...
we can't depend on celebrities to speak out, march, etc...
if they want to be out there, then they will be. if not, fine....whatever...we need to stop trying to get them out there because i honestly think some don't want to be political about it (how that works, i am not sure)
I'm not going to sit here and wait for ellen or NPH to act or whatever. I'm gonna do what *I* gotta do.
I'm a little concerned that
re-George
"He who blogs behind the rows..."
You know what? Say what
You know what? Say what you guys will about Perez (and AE says a lot... over and over and over again) sometimes the dude has a point. I'm also disappointed that T.R. had better things to do than protest Prop 8.
And hey, I give Perez credit for actually getting straight people to read about these issues, and therefore maybe changing a few minds. He has a HUGE straight audience (probably predominantly so) and (in the case of educating people about civil rights) he's using his platform for good. That's not something to be bitchy about.
As for T.R., I can't pretend to know what was going on behind the scenes, but I suspect his lack of screentime didn't result in his dissatisfaction, rather it was probably the other way around. George was a major player, the heart of the show even, until the rumors started to swirl about him being a diva behind the scenes.
I'm sorry to see the character of George go, especially because T.R. just isn't that good of an actor to find another plum role like this, IMHO.
i agree...
I agree that Perez does have influence, but i also thinks he goes over the line sometimes. I think if he wanted to, he could use his influence more for good than trashing people and drawing dumb images on them....as well as outing people (though i dont think he has done that for a while)
i do want to ask something though regarding T.R. Knight and protesting Prop 8.... Are you also dissapointed in other celebs like NPH or Ellen not protesting?
I'm just curious why some people seem to depend on big names for causes like this. it's nice, yes, to have their
influence (well, actually not an influence really)support, but like the first time around, their support did nothing. made no difference whatsoever.Hi Liz! I agree 100%
Hi Liz!
I agree 100% about Perez, but that's not really my point. I'm just saying that, like it or not, the guy actually does good every now and then, and in the case of Prop 8 and Miss California, I daresay he managed to shed light on an issue to a middle-of-the-road audience that the mainstream media or gay media didn't stand a chance at reaching. That alone deserves a modicum of respect. I'm not saying AE needs to embrace the man, I just think throwing potshots at someone who is reaching out to our common enemy (for lack of a better term) and educating them is uncalled for. It kind of comes across like sour grapes, to be honest.
As for your question about celebrities, heck yeah I'm disappointed in Ellen, NPH and the others. I don't "depend" on them per se, but I think it does send a very subtle message to those middle-of-the-road people. "If the most visible gay celebrities aren't bothered by this, why should we think it's important?"
I disagree that their original involvement made no difference whatsoever. We have no way at all of knowing whether it did or didn't. That was a very close vote, and it very well might have had a much wider margin without their efforts. That's why I am so sorry to see them basically taking a "meh" approach to the Supreme Court's decision.
3 things
1st. having seen T.R. on stage I can tell you that he is in fact an incredibly talented actor. Far more talented than the drivel Grey's gives him to work with.
2nd. I haven't heard of him being a diva at all. I think truthfully Shonda has gone out of the way to punish Knight for not keeping his mouth shut when the whole Washington "fag" scandal broke. I think she blames Knight for the whole incident and blames him for having to fire Washington. She's really given him no other choice but to leave.
3rd. why do people in La carry their wallets and phones all the time. Are they really that concerned with the lines of their pants?

As much as I love to visit
As much as I love to visit to this site and read all the information that you provide, your endless attacks about Perez Hilton are becoming tiresome and repetitive. Yes , we all get it, you hate him with the white hot intensity... blah ,blah, blah. I can't for the life of me figure out why you feel the need to obsess about someone you loathe so much with such amazing regularity.
Just give it a rest and stop reading and mentioning him. Those that enjoy what he provides can continue to do so at his popular site, and those here who hate him so passionately never need hear his name mentioned again.
The GA finale
Shonda THREW HIM UNDER A BUS!
Literally!!!
Talk about giving someone the proverbial middle finger.
George has been invisible this entire season and, instead of giving him a graceful or respectable exit, Shonda flippantly turns him into roadkill.
I think she's made her feelings about TR crystal clear.
Obviously, there is no love lost between these two.
I wish TR luck in his future endeavors away from Grey's.
Near as I can tell, it was
Near as I can tell, it was ultimately his choice to leave the show, so she could very well have just sent George off to Iraq. Instead, she gave him a heartbreaking, emotionally powerful farewell. I think that's a pretty clear statement as to what she thought of the character of George.
Same for Heigl. She pulled some diva antics last year and how was she punished? By given an amazing front-burner storyline all season.
Yeah, that Shonda, she really punishes those divas, doesn't she? :-)
I like TR Knight and his character George O'Malley.
I can't imagine Grey's Anatomy without him. Granted, TR isn't as glamorous as Patrick Dempsey or Katharine Heigl. He's not a conventional hottie like Messrs Dempsey and Chambers and that guy who plays McSlutty (I mean McSteamy). And he doesn't get plum storylines like Katharine, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, and even Chandra Wilson. But he is a fine actor, and George O'Malley is a great character - a hardworking doctor who wants to do the right thing in life, but ultimately can't get it right.
I don't think that TR ever got his due on Grey's Anatomy, even before the Isaiahgate scandal. If Shonda didn't think highly of TR or his character, why did she even create George and why did she even hire TR? It's as if she never gave a shit about him.
I don't blame TR for wanting to leave the show. The show has been going downhill for years, and clearly TR is a man who values his principles over the almighty dollar. Yeah, it was his biggest break, and he's unlikely to get another one at the same level. But why stick around people who clearly don't want you around, even if your gifts are what makes the show a hit? If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't want to be around those bitches. I would rather go broke doing what I love around constructive and supportive types than make millions while being around people who clearly hate your guts and don't appreciate what you bring to the table.
