Casual chat with out actor Russell Tovey

 I love Russell Tovey. He really seems to have his head screwed on right. I'd love to see Midshipman Frame return to Who as a companion, but it seems we're only ever allowed toothy females these days.

You know, he really is just adorable, humble, and self-effacing.  Darn near perfect.  And as Being Human shows, he's got a great butt too!  I need to move to the U.K.

Russell is great. He got through this interview with this vapid girl who was a little insulting about him being gay without losing his cool and being quite affable.

He's so cute, funny and adorable! Both dorky and cool at the same time. Just the kind of guy you'd like to hang out with.

And, of course, he's amazing in Being Human.

Here's another brief interview with Russell Tovey in thelondonpaper.com from about a month ago. There are some minor spoilers for a couple of early episodes of Being Human.

Here's an interesting bit about him auditioning to be the new Doctor Who:

Russell T Davies recommended you as the next Doctor Who, didn’t he?
Yeah. When Russell said that people were saying, “Well done, congratulations” and I was like, “What? It’s not happened.” There were talks and it didn’t work out – that’s fine. I did audition [for new show-runner Steven Moffat]. I then found out Matt [Smith] got it, and thought, perfect! You ­become public property and I don’t know how I would cope with that. I’d do it – how could you not? – but it would terrify me. It would be overnight fame. Everyone has an opinion, and what some ­people were saying about me was so horrible.

We haven't even gotten to see the first season in America yet, but BBC3 has renewed Being Human for a second season of 8 episodes (what is it with the Brits and these short seasons?) on top of the six episode season that's airing now.  Based on the plot and where it is right now, I can't say I understand how it's going to work, I'm excited.

Great news, and actually I like the shorter seasons.  Keeps them fresh.  Most of my fav Brit shows use this format.  Plus it gives the actors time to do other projects and still stay around.
