"Terminator: Salvation" director McG to bring "Spring Awakening" to the big screen?
This is interesting news: Apparently action director McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator: Salvation) is looking to bring the teen angstiest little rock opera that could to the big screen. Yes, it's Spring Awakening: Full Throttle. True, McG did get his start directing music videos and even co-wrote (and produced) music for Sugar Ray. (Note: I said "true", not ... well ... "good".) But how will his sensibilities translate to a musical based on a dusty old German cautionary tale about sex, abortion, rape, suicide and budding gay love? Will Moritz sing "I Don't Do Sadness" while jumping off a cliff on a flaming motorbike? Will Wendla advise Anna to "flip ... her god ... damned ... hair"? Let's hope that, regardless of how many bullet-time sequences McG decides to add into the dance numbers, he leaves the play's gay couple intact (they share one of the more interesting love songs of the show), and that he casts some great actors to play Ernst and Hanschen (played by excellently-named out actor Gideon Glick and Jonathan B. Wright on Broadway). Thoughts? Is this a match made in heaven, or will it be, to quote the show's most notable song, "Totally F*cked"?

I was skeptical when I saw
"Awakening" to Premiere on Here! This Summer
Yep
Nonononononono!
Let me think
There was John Huston directing ANNIE for the screen. I think it is the rock score that made a sodden old play into a hit. You should consider that pyrotechnics enough to employ McG, unless he employs Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens as his star-crossed lovers.
Now there is a gruesom thought.
That's all I am saying...
