News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

To Make a Long Story Short ... Christian Bale, Larry Craig, and More!

  • OutZone has a handy-dandy roundup of Zac Efron fansites, including the creepy and gay-baiting ones.
  • A mini-profile of Hot 100 vet Christian Bale, in which he reveals that he plays not one, but TWO incarnations of Bob Dylan in Todd Haynes' upcoming headtrip biopic, I'm Not There.
  • Dan Kroll at SoapCentral posted a forum on the ATWT "Nuke" kiss (along with a very personal essay on the event and what surrounds it) and the comments are very encouraging. Sure, considering Dan started the site, the visitors are likely a little more reasonable and open to "that kind of thing," but it's still nice to see. (t/y Wayman!)
  • What we won't hear reported about Larry Craig
  • One of John Barrowman's many busy clones (as there is simply no way that one man can make as many public appearances as he apparently does!) will host a gala tribute to composer Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly!, Mame) in London next month.

Opposite-Sex Public Sex

The Larry Craig scandal illustrates American's anti-gay prejudices.  Public sex by straight couples is celebrated in the culture.  In a MSNBC.com survey they found that 22% of Americans admitted to engaging in public sex in the last year.  Yet you don't see salacious stories about opposite-sex couples in the news.  It's pretty amazing that Larry Craig is getting calls for his resignation for tapping his feet while David Vitter got none after having anonymous sex with scores of prostitutes while married. On topix.net, one of the largest forums on the internet, straight people talk about public sex they had.

Larry Craig's record regarding LGBT people is horrible.  I am not defending him.  I am defending gay people and the gay-bashing that is going on because of this story.  CNN just a few minutes ago on Out in the Open did a story saying bathrooms and parks are popular destinations for gay men to have sex.  It's outrageous.

Exactly!!!!

How many songs talk about making love in public? Obviously they mean straight love. All of us gays better drive panel vans or RV's so we can have sex with someone out of sight.
