Christian group: Gay couples use children "as trophies"

The debate over gays adopting isn't just raging here in the States. Down in sunny Australia (happy Mardi Gras!) the government is making Parliamentary Inquiries as to whether current law (which allows gays to adopt but does not recognize their partners as the child's other parent) are discriminatory.

Cue the local conservative Christian group (the ACL), who had this to say about the issue:

"Research shows that the most stable relationship is a married heterosexual relationship and that's where there is the least promiscuity" ... ""Not content with having discrimination removed, (they) are now pursuing symbolic gains and holding up children as trophies for their own agenda."

Now, we know this isn't true because we're still basking in the afterglow of the gayest trophy-awarding ceremony in Hollywood history, and no infants were handed out at the podium.
