Daniel: America's Most Boom-Boom-est Model
So who else is still watching VH1's trainwrecktastic America's Most Smartest Model? (crickets) Yes, television's most vacuuousest, least ugliest reality competition has become my most guiltiest pleasure. Pretty people? Check. Brazen stupidity? Check. Hilarious hissyfits? Checkcheckcheckcheckcheck. This past Sunday boasted all three of these in spades as the models were taken to a nightclub, plied with booze, and then made to network with industry types without being told that there was an actual challenge going on. Daniel, who was easily the book-smartest model in the bunch, had a Grade-A ego meltdown that lasted the whole night, and was eliminated the next day when he was unable to get a good picture with an ostrich in 60 seconds. It was a pretty spectacular turn of events, as far as reality show image-spirals go, but in the end Daniel seemed like he'd recovered from the massive shock of realizing that he'd been taken advantage of by an entertainment form that subsists entirely on the fresh blood of its stars. Anyway, I was tooling around the net today and was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel's toothy mug in connection with the Men of Laguna Beach Calendar. The calendar was produced as a fundraising effort to save the legendary Boom Boom Room, a Laguna gay bar and inn, as well as local charities. The project's site notes that the men who posed for the calendar aren't necessarily gay, so let's not jump to any conclusions about Daniel in particular ... but if you were a fan of his turn on the show, you might want to catch his stint as next year's Mr. December.
Daniel is pictured above with co-star Aussie Rachel at a calendar signing event ... thank heaven both have sobered up since last week's episode! Submitted by on Tue, 2007-11-20 09:55. |

How Have I
managed to not come across this show? Maybe "Much More Music" (which picks up a lot of VH1 programming) is not showing it, but I am going to channel surf to find out. The kind of program I would mute, put on the Ipod and just watch with great interest!
As for guilty pleasures, we all have them, mine are in the area of pop music. I am probably the only male in North America who will admit to liking "You Light Up My Life" by Debbie Boone.
Cheers
