We don't talk much about American Idol because ... well, because there's really not much to say, when it comes to gay visibility. But we'd be remiss to not acknowledge that last night the Planet-Eating Karaoke Voltron crowned a new winner, who won by a landslide.

Who's that?
Okay, maybe I'm just being dumb, but who's Joel McHale? He looks really familiar, but I can't quite place him...
I didn't care who won anymore, but did watch the show... Anyone else notice just how cute David Cook's brother is? The cameras went to him many times last night, and I sure didn't mind...maybe that's just me though... 8)
Joel Mchale
He's the host of The Soup (formerly TalkSoup) and a stand-up comedian I believe. All the former hosts have gone on to do bigger things (Greg Kinnear, Hal Sparks, Aisha tyler [who I adore])
Is it just me or does David Cook look like he's wearing a wig? That's a bad dye job.
And thomas dekker is trying way too hard to compensate for being a rather prissy child actor.
Thanks Brock!
Thanks Brock!
I must've seen him on something in passing, as I don't watch the Soup.
I've heard a lot of people say things like that about D. Cook's hair...but I'm absolutely horribe at telling if it's a wig or something... isn't that just a 'cool, younger person' hair style...?

I disagree...
I'm right there with you.
I bet David Cook
is specifically forbidden from coming out in his new contract. LOL
And, why in the world should I know Thomas Dekker? What did he do of value?
Dekker
He's currently on the Sarah Connor Chronicles or whatever the Terminator spin-off series on CBS is, but he's more famous, or infamous, on this board as having played Zach the character that was de-gayed on Heroes. When he was really little he played Patrick Stewart's imaginary son in Star Trek Generations and was on a few episodes of Voyager as holo-character is Janeway's Jane Eyre inspired holo-novel. He was a very prissy character both times.
I hope I don't sound overly-prejudiced, it's not internalized homophobia, I just can't stand priss, in either boys or girls. I'm a total tom-boy myself.
Thank you, Brock
More Dekker
Thomas Dekker is totally hot in his "Sarah Connor" role and in other pictures I've seen. The photo above - not so much. In fact, to me it doesn't look like him at all.
I thought the show was pretty good, but all the Terminator movies and shows run up against the same insoluble logic problem. If they sent a terminator back in time to kill Sarah Connor (as in the first movie), and the effort failed, they could just send another one back to the same time to try again. And over and over again, until they succeeded. They don't have to wait until John Connor grows up more and time passes to try again.
Do you watch Woody Tondorf?

LOL This is the second time I've heard this whole thing...
Terminator
That was great! Thanks for the link. I did a creative writing class in college, and wrote a long short story based around time travel. I tried to think the whole thing through, and actually came up with a semi-plausible way to explain the apparent illogical stuff. But the Terminator stuff just doesn't work logically. Though the more I've read about new ideas in quantum physics the more I think time travel could actually be possible. At least theoretically, though man very possibly will never get it to work.
BTW, that guy is seriously cute!
George Michael
George Michael
George Michael is never good
You are all wrong!
:o)
No, really! I LOVE George Michael. Love his songs. Love his voice! Brilliant tenor!
I haven't seen the American Idol show (but seen some clips - David Cook is good! I'd say his hair is real but dyed), so I don't know about George Michael appearing there. But I've been to two of his tour concerts and HE ROCKS! Whatever you say. HE ROCKS!
:o)

George Michael
We're not commenting on George's talent for music, we're commenting on his talent for being embarrassing.
Just like straight people would not hold up Britney Spears as a role model for motherhood, George is not a role model for a well-adjusted gay man.
We are, after all, talking about someone who has openly said he needs to smoke Pot in order to remain sane. I can only wonder how his partner feels about that. Or what his partner is really like.
George Michael again..
Yes yes, I got that. ;o) I just felt I had to say something in his defence *lol*
I know about his multiple 'embarrassing' moments, but I do tend to ignore tabloids and must say I had forgotten about his 'Pot' speech. It's not good of course, but in the midst of all this, his performances were flawless (pun intended ;o)!
