Developing: Did T.R. Knight walk off the set of "Grey's Anatomy"?

Update: Entertainment Tonight is saying that they've heard from the producers of Grey's that the rumor isn't true.

Amid swirling rumors that the PTB at Grey's Anatomy were looking to fire an actor (or actress) whose behavior has been "difficult" of late, it's circulating in the blogosphere that out actor T.R. Knight — whose work environment has been nothing but kittens and rainbows since January of 2007 — has walked off the set, either voluntarily or at the request of producers.

So, I got a little more information from my source and they say, "He hasn't attended table reads since episode 2. He is pissed and miserable and thinks his story line is stupid. He said goodbye to his hair and makeup people last week. He says he is done and has quit. ABC has not released him. Shondra Rhimes, the producer called him and he told her he had nothing to say. He has packed his dressing room."

One has to wonder: Is this remotely true? If so, is it related to the other rumors about a departing castmember? Did Knight simply walk? Maybe he just went to get some Cornnuts. Or this could all be hooey...
