Did Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker just come out on the Muppets Christmas special?
AfterElton.com Senior Muppet Correspondent Brent Hartinger just pointed out a very interesting development in last night's A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa special in which Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his long-suffering lab assistant Beaker share a tender reunion and a dance. Maybe not what some folks might have expected to see in a holiday special, but dedicated fans wouldn't be surprised to learn that the two fuzzy friends share "the love that dare not meep its name". We've contacted the pair's publicist for comment ... I wonder if they could do the traditional "I'm Gay" People cover if they're not actually people? Check out the clip, after the jump! I adore the Muppets (yes, I own the box sets of The Muppet Show), and we've had gay Muppets before on Logo with Alien Boot Camp - which was hysterical, but Beaker, at least prefers the chicks - look what he wished for when he was wearing the Wish Helmet, a beautiful/slightly trashy female, and more important to him that Dr. Honeydew, since he wished himself away with the girl. I know you meant this in all light-hearted fun, joking about the dance at the end of the special, and maybe my sense of humore went out the door with my job this week, but reaching to have these characters to be gay, is to me, in my current mood, just one of those reasons the wack jobs on the right wing are freaking out over teletubies - something innocent gets blown out of proportion in a joke - we're trying to convert the children. It's like trying to accuse the guest stars on the The Muppet Show of bestiality because they flirted with a (puppet) frog. End of non-sense-of-humor rant. But bonus points for the "the love that dare not meep its name" line. I choked on my eggnog. If we have to kow-towSubmitted by

Um, I think you're gonna be visited by three ghosts tonight...Submitted by

Geez, if a gay supporting puppet character in a cast of straights is all it takes to make kids gay... Better watch your step!Submitted by
