Did Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker just come out on the Muppets Christmas special?

AfterElton.com Senior Muppet Correspondent Brent Hartinger just pointed out a very interesting development in last night's A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa special in which Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his long-suffering lab assistant Beaker share a tender reunion and a dance.

Maybe not what some folks might have expected to see in a holiday special, but dedicated fans wouldn't be surprised to learn that the two fuzzy friends share "the love that dare not meep its name". We've contacted the pair's publicist for comment ... I wonder if they could do the traditional "I'm Gay" People cover if they're not actually people?
