Die Hard: With an F-Word

In case you cared, Bruce Willis has come to the defense of Isaiah Washington, telling Time Magazine:

"I hate to think we live in a time when you can get fired from your job because of what you say ... He didn't punch anyone. I think we'll think differently with hindsight."

Good point, Bruce -- he didn't punch anyone, he reportedly throttled co-star Patrick Dempsey, and we all know that throttling is pretty much day-to-day workplace behavior for most people. But a punch, hey-o! That would have set off some alarms.

I don't know, Bruce. Personally, I would hate to think we live in a time where you can create an environment of hatred for your coworkers and force them to live in fear just to earn a paycheck. I would hate to think that we live in a time where it's alright to physically and verbally attack coworkers without consequences. As for the hindsight thing, well -- we can leave that to the Holocaust revisionists, moon landing conspiracy theorists, and anyone who actually bought a copy of The Return of Bruno.
